2ND ANNUAL MUSIC ON THE WATER
Make-A-Wish Idaho grants transformational wishes to Idaho children battling critical illness. Make-A-Wish Idaho believes that wishes are an important part of the child’s treatment process and recovery. Wishes give the child and their family a break from treatments and hospital visits. Wishes give them something to look forward to and moments to spend together focusing on their family. They give a child a bit of control when the rest of their world feels out of control. Lastly, they give back moments of childhood that were taken away by illness.
Make-A-Wish Idaho will grant 93 wishes this year. Events like Walk for Wishes, and partnerships like the one with Name Brand Promotions and Music on the Water are absolutely vital to making those wishes come true. Make-A-Wish Idaho relies 100% on the generosity of
our Idaho communities. Without our donors, sponsors, partners, volunteers and kind community members, wishes would only be dreams. We are so thankful to Name Brand Promotions for helping wishes come TRUE.
MAKE-A-WISH IDAHO: GRACE’S WISH Grace is 17 years old. At 13 Grace was diagnosed with a brain tumor. And, shortly after diagnosis she underwent brain surgery to remove the golf ball sized mass.
Grace’s mom Pam said: When a doctor tells you, ER-style, that your 13 year old has a large brain tumor and it “doesn’t look good” your world changes. While the rest of Grace’s friends were doing things that typical 13 year olds do, Grace was undergoing surgery and receiving treatments in a hospital room. She missed out on so much of
her early teenage years. She found joy in watching her favorite YouTube stars. So, when Grace learned she was eligible for a wish, Grace wished to meet her favorite YouTube stars Dan and Phil. This year she travelled to London, England with her family and had the opportunity to meet the guys who gave her strength during her treatments. They even decorated cookies together! The rest of the trip was spent enjoying quality time with her family, exploring the sights of London.
Grace said, “Having a wish gave me balance while I was facing treatments, it gave me something to look forward to. It’s the closest you can get to being OK, despite all the things I had to go through. “
Wishes like Grace’s are only possible because of the support of our generous community and businesses like Name Brand Promotions. We are truly thankful for your support!
DOCUMENTING OUR DISRUPTION
We help brands make a difference by simply doing things differently. Our talented team is bold enough to explore new boundaries with our clients. Challenge is our motivation, impact is our ambition, and experience is our expertise. We have always felt that our body of work best exemplifies our mission; ‘To disrupt the promotional product industry.’ At the start of the year, we asked ourselves how can we share that mission? How can we share both our choice projects, as well as our day-to-
day efforts? With this in mind, we set about building our new website. Its goal, to succinctly convey who we are, what we stand for and, to catalog our work; all of it. That’s right. We’ve been crazy enough to embark on a journey to catalog every project we create.
By visiting www.nbpromos.com you’ll see our initial projects, and over the upcoming weeks, you’ll see this portfolio swell in content. We hope to create the best idea resource in the country for the promotional product industry, fueling our clients with idea after idea. Oh, and
if you don’t see something that grabs your fancy, don’t sweat, call any member of Name Brand, and we’ll go to work to create something that fits your needs, and quite possibly, something totally brand new.
BEHIND THE SCENES: LUKE Our behind the scenes feature for this month is long overdue and well deserved. Luke started with Name Brand in February and I’m not sure how he has escaped this section thus far. Since starting Luke has been a great addition to the team. Luke has assumed the role of “Resident Grill Master” within our team. Along with keeping us well fed, Luke is an equal mix of quick witted and kind hearted. So now that you know a little about Luke, let’s grill him with questions.
Q: What is your role at Name Brand?
A: Senior Account Manager/Operations Assistant/BBQ Cook/Event Coordinator/ Assistant Receptionist Q: Do you have an office nickname? A: Lucius Q: What is your favorite quote? A: The universe rewards action. – Tom Jenness Q: If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?
A: Matthew McConaughey or Edward Norton Q: Which cartoon character would you most like to switch lives with? A: Hank Hill. His lawn is immaculate and he knows his way around a BBQalthough it is propane, we aren’t all perfect. Q: What is your hidden talent? A: I can’t burp. I am physically unable to burp.
A: None really. Maybe kids shows, because sometimes they leave the room and I keep watching Hey Duggee or Paw Patrol and not even miss a beat. Q: What would people never guess that you do in your role? A: BBQ for the office once a week. It’s on propane, but it’s still BBQ. Q: Would you rather be a tiny elephant, or a giant hamster? A: Tiny Elephant.

Q: What is your favorite part about working for Name Brand Promotions?
A: Wood fired BBQ. I make my own seasonings and rubs for Pork, Beef, and Chicken. Putting a brisket on the smoker at 3am for a 6pm dinner is very common.
A: Music on the Water. It’s a lot of work for planning and execution, but the result is very rewarding. This year we had 8 bands, 8 food trucks, and helped raise just over $90k for Make-A-Wish Idaho in 2 days. Also logged over 54,000 steps in a 1-mile x .5 mile area.
Q: What TV show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love?
