PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: BEANIES
KEEP YOUR FOREHEAD WARM Winter is approaching, and one of our top sellers is a seasonal staple – our fully customizable NBP beanie. You read that right: our beanie is 100% unique, down to the very threads. Our art department will dazzle you with unique, stylish, and effective design that you and your recipients will want to wear again and again. Whether you want to go simple, or go as design crazy as an early 2000’s webpage - we have every resource to do it right.
A note from Kiel:
Beanies are one of the few promo products that really showcase the effort that goes into crafting a design from start to finish. On the beanie pictured above, you can see how pronounced each individual stitch is—the usual clean diagonal lines of the company’s logo are turned into stair step shapes, a subtle difference that adds a personal touch you can’t find outside our custom knit wear. It’s a testament to how simple design choices can transform a “promo product” into a wearable, retail-grade “fashion choice.”

SERVICE SPOTLIGHT: HOLIDAY GIFTS
BEAT THE CLOCK! DON’T LET SANTA OUTSHINE YOU Time is running out! This is your last chance to get the best product selection with ample time for production!
Good Packaging Makes All the Difference People can tell the difference between a manufactured commodity and a thoughtfully chosen gift. However, as a buyer conscientious of both cost and quantity, this line can get a little blurry. A great way to separate your holiday gift from another junk-drawer- destined flash drive is to package it nicely, in a way that sets it apart.
Design takes product to the next level. Having a functional, well-performing product is often only half the battle. Your goal should be to provide your audience with something of quality that makes them think of you. If you take the time to give them the best water bottle you can find but don’t mark it as YOUR’S, the purpose is lost. There are countless ways to brand products in unique, stylish ways. Talk to us about our creative services.
Are the Who’s and How’s of your project daunting? We do not want logistical concerns to get in the way of your holiday gift decision making. Because of that, Name Brand Promotions offers the following services: Warehousing. If you don’t have the space, you don’t have to wait. Gift Wrapping. Don’t waste your time wrapping 100’s of gifts, we’ll take care of it for you. Webstores. If your employees like options, we can create and on-line store for them to shop from. Call us today and learn how to take the stress out of the holidays.

NBP TRAVELS:
IMPORTS DONE RIGHT. A look at the overseas process from our CEO China has allowed NBP to compete with larger companies in a number of ways. If you asked most other vendors why they import, the most common response would be price. Obviously, when it comes to our larger quantity opportunities, the savings are a big advantage. But we believe the biggest value that comes from working with our overseas partners are the in-depth design choices and decoration potential that’s unlocked when we get to watch a product come to life from start to finish. Most suppliers buy large quantities of specific items that come in a handful of colors and offer a limited space where they can print your logo at their facility here in America. The plus side of that model is the fast turnaround time. The negative side is how much creativity and individualism your brand ends up sacrificing. We always strive to set our clients, and by extension ourselves, apart from the competition. China presents its own set of struggles—distance, time zones, language barriers. It’s very important to remain hands-on with overseas partners to assure everyone involved has a clear understanding of expectations. I personally spend over a month every year travelling up and down the east coast of China so that I can meet with our partners. The purpose of those meetings is to build strong relationships, review projects in-depth, and work together to see what changes can be made on both ends to improve our future exchanges. The rest of my time is spent finding new ideas and products to share with our customers when the timing is right. I just returned from my latest two-week trip and it was a huge success! We are in the middle of five entirely custom projects for the Utah Jazz and SelectHealth. The items we’re creating are manufactured exclusively by our partners in China. And they’re going to look amazing! I truly appreciate the effort our overseas friends put into helping make our clients happy and ensuring that effort continues with frequent visits makes a 48-hour journey home all worth it.

Ever wonder who’s behind all the commotion that makes your promo magic possible? Well, wonder no further! It’s time you got to know the Name Brand family. Meet Scott and Matt (again): You already know Matt from issue #1 as our Operations Master - now we present to you, our Shipping & Receiving expert, Scott! What is your role at Name Brand? SCOTT: My email signature was set up as ‘Administrative Assistant’ but I sometimes like to think of myself as a Box Wrangler. MATT: Operations Manager
What do you like to do in your spare time? SCOTT: Being with my lady. Also, I find shopping for cars relaxing. Beyond my own, at least a dozen of my friends drive cars that I found for them. MATT: Be with my family and play baseball.
Top 5 favorite foods? SCOTT: Lasagna, NYC-style pepperoni pizza, Nathan’s hot dogs, everything my lady cooks for me. MATT: Prime Rib, Roast on a spit, Pizza, Turkey, Uncrustables.
What is the best prank you’ve ever pulled? SCOTT: I still have my best friend convinced I believe that snails can fly. Also I once hid something in plain sight at a friend’s home with a note on the bottom to let me know when they found it. It took three years. MATT: I don’t really pull pranks, I like playing with peoples minds in a fun way.
What kind of music do you listen to at work? SCOTT: 1970’s “oldies” with occasional Metallica breaks. MATT: Country and Rock. What scares you the most and why? SCOTT: Thanks to Sam Peckinpah movies and life experience, straight razors and large knives. MATT: Heights and Snakes. Heights because it’s high and Snakes because they snakes. Who is your favorite cartoon character and why? SCOTT: Scooby Doo, since I grew up knowing a LOT of Shaggy’s. MATT: Donald Duck- reminds me of me. Also He-Man (we have the same build.) Would you ever sky dive or bungee jump? SCOTT: No. Gravity is a cruel mistress. MATT: Hell No.
If you could learn one random skill, what would you learn? SCOTT: With “could” as the operative word, auto repair. MATT: Carpentry. What is your favorite joke? SCOTT: Not jokes per se, but the very missed observational humor of George Carlin. MATT: Per my uncle- These two baseball fans walk into a bar. One is Catholic, the other atheist. The atheist sees the Pope on TV and asks, “Who is that?” The Catholic responds, “That’s the Pope.” The atheist says, “Wow! Nice robes, big hat, and a staff? He must be very important. How did he get to be the Pope?” The Catholic says, “The Cardinals elected him.” The atheist responds, “When are the Giants going to do something for Willie Mays?!”
What is your favorite part about working for Name Brand Promotions?
SCOTT: My gut answer is working again after three years and two different states worth of searching for something that actually utilizes my knowledge from a lifetime in the retail/ wholesale/distribution fields. But really I’ve been handed a lot of crummy “same old, same old” swag over the years that showed no inspiration or forethought and it’s nice to see the creative process that goes into offering items that people actually care for instead of just donating en masse to thrift stores.
