Staff Updates

Caleb McCullum - Caleb is the Regional Outreach Coordinator in Oxford, MS. This position is a collaboration between Communicare and NAMI Mississippi. The goal of his position is to be a liaison for the community to better understand the services offered by NAMI Mississippi. Caleb attended the University of Alabama and graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology degree from the University of Mississippi. He is earning a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University.

Vanessa Chatelain - Vanessa has joined the team as Program Marketing Specialist. She works remotely from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Previously Vanessa has been trained to offer In Our Own Voice and has a passion for mental health. She is trained in yoga philosophy and certified in Critical Incident Stress Management.

Laykin Register, Former State Level Youth Engagement Coordinator - The Mississippi Department of Mental Health discontinued funding of the System of Care Grant, through which she was able to work as an Open Up Mississippi staff member. Due to the funding cut, NAMI Mississippi ended the contract with Laykin on September 30. She continues to remotely volunteer in other capacities for NAMI MS. We wish you well, Laykin, and we miss you. ❦
