THE PROPOSAL Construction of Homibhabha cancer hospital Mohali,Punjab with other facilities with the objective to develop and expand with international standards and provide comprehensive and m o d e r n i n f ra s t r u c t u r e f o r diagnosis and treatment for cancer. Cancer Hospital by Tata Memorial Hospital Trust with 230 cancer beds.
THE SITE
SITE PROXIMITY
The main challenge of the design was to keep separate circulations for both the Private and the General patients; such that OPD, entries, labs, waiting lobbies are all separated.
THE SITE IS LOCATED AT FIROZPUR BANGAR, MOHALI DISTRCT, PUNJAB.
•Site is located on mild contours and divided into three major levels. Chandigarh has a humid subtropical climate, for which the best orientation should be as shown.

THESIS : 250 BEDDED MULTI-SPECIALTY HOSPITAL, GURGAON
(B-ARCH THESIS PROJECT; UPTO CONCEPT STAGE)
ABOUT THE SITE
HEALING GARDEN
SITE: Located in Sector 56, Gurgaon, Haryana. VISION : To create a hospital design which aims to provide best medical facilities along with amicable environmental to aid their process of treatment and giving them a refreshing and lively experience during their stay in hospital.
DESIGN CONCEPT
COURTYARD
2. I decided to divide whole building in three zones creating 2 courtyards and all zones face maximum North and South.
1. The plot is oriented in N-S orientation which was the major challenge in designing in composite climate. 4.All the three zones are connected via cores and other functional areas making the building one. The form thus achieved is very functional with segregated functions.
MASSING AROUND SITE
The project is going on right now and is finished upto the concept design stage.
3. Level difference created so as to provide mutual shading.
INFERENCES ENTRANCES
SITE LAYOUT PURPOSE OF COURTYARD
Site is flat and rectangular with no major vegetation surrounded by roads on three sides. Dimension is 100m X 250m. Major drawback is East-West orientation.

ICU or wards are preferable in north direction.
In composite type of climate courtyard planning is a must which also acts as a buffer space inside.
Providing green areas and healing gardens create great impact on patients.

TRAINEES HOSTEL
SCOPE OF WORK Trainees hostel is meant for students of IAS academy. Every room consists of 2-bedded room considering proper cross ventilation in all the rooms. There is a common mess, courtyard, a pantry, reading area, etc. Form of the building is achieved so as to retain all the existing major trees.
The project was to redesign a historic site i.e. Barton Hill Complex to a IAS academy training center which includes a training hostel for students, executive hostel, an amphitheater, a cafeteria, a sports complex, and a kitchen. This site is on a hill in Thiruvanathapuram. Along with construction of the new buildings the old bungalow is restored. Minimum number of trees were cut and most of them conserved.
GROUND FLOOR PLAN The mess is connected to the main kitchen which has a separate service entry.
SITE PLAN The design is based on principles of Architect Laurie Baker. Major features are exposed brick walls, use mangalore tiles, ďŹ ller slab, rattrap bond, minimum use of glass, etc.
