THOUGHTS OF A POET: ‘EKPHRASIS I’

She sits in a café, Book in hand, alone, Her only company The chair, a table

Lies faced down, Stretched out, pulled Taut in both directions, Bound by life, prone Or collapsed, naked, Against a wall, head Turned away, arms Akimbo, legs sprawled Erasing herself from The past, present, future, Tomorrow all that is left, Yesterday, today, gone
