Once upon a time there were five friends; their names were JOE,IRIS, GIUSEPPE,COSMINA AND OLGA. JOE was from the Czech Republic, IRIS was from Greece , GIUSEPPE was from Italy , Cosmina was from Romania and OLGA was from Serbia. They never left each other. They were all committed to finding a way to save our world. “There must be a way! There must be a magical solution that will help save the world from poverty, hunger, inequality, injustice, climate change, deforestation, water scarcity and all those problems our world is facing” they were thinking.
Cosmina, a 15-year-old girl lives in the north-east of Romania and is proud to be part of such a rich area in terms of forests. On the other hand, it is worried about some forests, especially the deforestation that is taking place.
At the end of the summer, she and a few friends decide to go on a camping trip to relax. Tents and prepare everything they needed for the campfire, so they split up, 3 friends stay to set up the tents, and the other 2 go for wood and stones, they found the wood but they still needed some much bigger stones than the ones which they had found in the woods so they headed to the river which was very close to their camping area,
they found the stones but in addition to the stones they also found a bottle with a message inside. Cosmina opens the bottle reading the message on the ticket. ,,HALT DEFORESTATION and restore degraded forests to PROTECT HABITATS "is the message in the glass...
Joe,Iris,Giuseppe,Cosmina and Olga decided to go find people who are planing deforestation, hoping that they could change their mind. Joe, Iris and Giuseppe told them that trees are giving us oxygen, while Cosmina and Olga focused on telling them about how important a forest is … as a home for animals! romania Alisia Hunea Petronela maxim Golianu oana
They didn't listen to them and made fun of them, after vain persuasion they came to the conclusion that this was going nowhere, so they looked for another way to stop the mass deforestation. joe, iris, giuseppe, olga and cosmina tried to find some ways and tried to persuade them they tried to write a letter to the government but they didn't get an answer. They tried many ways to stop global deforestation, but all were without results.
After much thought,they actually ended up to something obvious, an online post, letting people know about their action. They had a significant amount of response and they actually started to feel encouraged and motivated. They also placed their first fundraiser so that they can make money to buy trees.

In fact that idea worked out. thousands of people donated money to them in order to add more trees, make the forests thicker and save the animals as well as their natural habitat. They managed to find volunteers that could help them pick up the rubbish and make the forests cleaner in general. they tried contacting the government one more time but they didn’t respond. That didn’t make them lose their motivation and give up though.
they kept on trying in order to save the forests. SUDDENLY, THE PRIME MINISTER ANNOUNCED that a mall was going to be built on their favorite forest. They were devastated. They would spent hours searching for a solution to this problem.

The time was very limited, they could not lose their dream and mission. So they met the CEO of the company and told him the problems. As they expected, the boss did nothing because he was very interested in money. The last possibility that they had was to collect a lot of signatures to stop the works. Initially no one followed their idea, but they had just started and didn’t know what was going to happen. In fact the president of an environmental association noticed them for their post. It was a great
stroke of luck because the association had a lot of members, who have added their signatures. This agency had experience in the field of the environment and they knew that to get the boss to take action they had to prove that the construction would be economically inconvenient. To do this they had to explain to him that the European Union would soon set up heavy taxes for those who
would occupy green spaces in cities, so he had to move his investment to another place. If they had been good, they could also direct him to some green investment: such as a wind farm to generate clean energy, much more promising from an economic point of view in the long term and better for the environment. They eventually decided to avoid talking directly to the boss and something big came up in their mind: setting up a meeting with the prime
minister himself. They knew it would have been a really tough thing to accomplish, but due to their expertise and their acquaintances they could have even achieved their goal. Everyone knew that the plan could have been realized, so they started to work hard and think about a good strategy to put to use. Thanks to the connections of the
executives of the agency, the guys managed to get a private meeting with the prime minister. The meeting was set at 5 pm in a luxurious 5-stars hotel in London, the Savoy Hotel. The young people , accompanied by some representatives of the agency, arrived at the hotel a few minutes early: in those few minutes they reviewed the speech prepared during the trip. The minister arrived a few minutes after 5pm: he entered the hotel, greeted the young
people and walked with them to a hotel room. The participants in the meeting took their seats and the speech began: Cosmina explained the various reasons why nature should not be changed, each of these reasons were analyzed by one 1 of the 4 boys. THEY LEARNED A LOT OF THINGS, AND DECIDED TO MOVE IN ITALY, THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND ROMANIA TO RAISE OTHERS AWARENESS ABOUT HOW VITAL TREES ARE TO US. HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT THEY RECOMMENDED - BUT ABOVE ALL THEY GIVEN AN EXAMPLE - OTHERS TO DO: PLANT A THREE WHERE YOU CAN, DON'T USE PALM OIL OR PRODUCTS WITH PALM OIL, BUY RECYCLED PRODUCTS AND THEN RECYCLE THEM AGAIN, BUY ONLY WHAT YOU WILL USE, SUPPORT THE PRODUCTS OF COMPANIES THAT ARE COMMITTED TO REDUCING DEFORESTATION. They underlined ONE THING ABOVE ALL: IT IS THE CONSUMERS WHO MAKE THE RULES OF THE MARKET.
IT'S NOT TRUE THAT WE DON'T HAVE POWER OVER WHAT MULTINATIONALS DO! WE ARE NOT UNARMED! MORE AND MORE PEOPLE BEGAN TO UNDERSTAND WHEN THEY WERE DAMAGING UNCONSCIOUSLY, Not only THE ENVIRONMENT, BUT ALSO TO THEMSELVES, AND ALTHOUGH THERE WOULD BE A LOT ROAD TO DO THAT WAS DEFINITELY THE FIRST STEP TO SAFEGUARD THE FORESTS PRESENT ON OUR LAND: CONSCIOUSNESS AND, ABOVE ALL, SENSITIVITY.
