How to Make a Paper Bag Scrapbook
Grocery bags are thick and can hold full sheets of paper in the side pockets.
Fold each of the 3 bags in half with the bottom flap on the inside and crease the fold flat.
Punch three holes on the folded side of the first bag, evenly spaced out. For thick bags, it may be necessary to go in from the top and bottom through only one thickness at a time to punch the hole. The center only has two layers of paper whereas the edges have four layers.
Slide the next bag inside the first bag with the bottom on the opposite side.
Use a pencil to mark the holes on the second bag so that they line up with the first bag.
Remove the bag and punch the holes to the same way as the first bag.
Mark and punch the third bag with the bottom on the same side as the first bag.
Tie bags together with ribbon, yarn, twist ties, or use a long reach stapler or a sewing machine.
Glue decorative paper on the pages. Papers can be inserted into the side pockets and a slit or flap can be cut in the bag bottom to hold papers. Dr. Nancy Mack Multigenre Research Projects: Multifaceted, Multipurpose Writing Assignments Teachers College Press
