NAPSA Chairs Roles and Goals 2018/19 Stephanie Samios – IPSF Hi Everyone! I am very excited about IPSF this year and what they can do for NAPSA pharmacy students. Through my role as IPSF chair - I will be focusing on Public Health Campaigns working in collaboration with Board member Stephanie Salvatore, Publications chair Erin, and Pharmacy Awareness Chair, Antoni. This year I will also ensure our Student Exchange Program in Australia is re-ignited, as we begin hosting international pharmacy students in order to gain positions for our Australian students to do placement overseas. IPSF has so much to offer pharmacy students with unequalled international pharmacy conferences and educational opportunities. It is my personal goal to ensure everyone becomes more involved and cognisant of IPSF initiatives this year and to expose you and your members to opportunities that will open up a plethora of career pathways! Fun Fact: I have an unhealthy obsession with breakfast-dinner. Home from uni? Cereal. Late-night snack? Cereal. Watching the bachelor? Cereal.

Antoni Ukalovic – Pharmacy Awareness My name is Antoni, I am a second year Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) student at Curtin University and I am honoured and excited to have been elected as the Pharmacy Awareness Chair!! I have been heavily involved with WAPSA from the start of my time as a pharmacy student as a first year representative, then as a second year representative and this year as WAPSA’s pharmacy awareness chair. My role (as the name suggests) is to raise awareness of pharmacy and what we do, to students and the greater community. It will also be my job to organise and run NAPSA’s Charity Cup and Vampire cup campaigns. On top of this I represent NAPSA on the Pharmacist Support Service (PSS) board providing student input during meetings. During my time as PA chair I really want to encourage inter-branch PA chair communication, so everyone can help each other out and share ideas to work together to have successful charity cup and vampire cup

campaigns. I’m also going to revise the Pharmacy Awareness Month health campaigns to run as a year long ongoing health awareness campaigns and give branch PA chairs ideas for health awareness campaigns the can do (both IPSF and external from IPSF health campaigns) and to try and reach out beyond pharmacy students and bring awareness of pharmacy out to the greater community. Fun Fact: Being from a slavic country (Croatia) some people would say I have a strange fixation with tracksuits, Adidias tracksuits especially. I even bought 4 new sets of tracksuits this winter alone!!

Cathryn Carlisle – Rural and Indigenous I am proud to have the privilege to take on NAPSA Rural and Indigenous Chair for the 2018/19 term. I am currently in my fourth year of a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) at the University of Queensland. I have been lucky enough to attend four NAPSA congresses, World Congress in 2017 and have experienced the roles of Secretary, President and Graduation Dinner representative on my local branch QPSA. Next year I will be venturing to Mount Isa for my intern year. After being inspired by previous holders of the Rural and Indigenous position, I secured placements in Mount Isa and Weipa and since then my passion for all things rural has grown exponentially. One area that I would like to strengthen for NAPSA is our understanding of considerations for health care in indigenous communities. I’d like to encourage every student to go rural at least once. If you want to go rural or if you’re not sure but you have questions, if you’re an indigenous student in pharmacy looking for some connections or if you are interested in becoming a part of a subcommittee please feel free to contact me at rural.indigenous@napsa.org.au Fun Fact: I was a competitive ballroom dancer for many years

Erin Cooper – Publications I have just completed my third year of a Bachelor of Pharmacy at Charles Sturt University in Orange NSW and I’m the current Vice-President of my home branch OPSA. This term I am hoping to assist in promotion and engagement of NAPSA and IPSF health campaigns and ensuring that we re-establish a relationship with the International Federation. I am also hoping to work towards verifying our social media accounts to allow for a larger presence within the pharmacy student community and beyond. I am looking forward to working with the rest of the Board and Chairs to help promote and involve all NAPSA members with the work that will be undertaken in the 2018/19 term. Fun Fact: Alongside my Pharmacy studies I also teach ballet and am currently undertaking my RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies.

Sophie De Rota – Alumni I’m currently in my third year of a Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Canberra and I’m the Vice President of my local branch CaSPA. This year I hope to foster greater interest in NAPSA Alumni membership, so we can strengthen the connection between NAPSA members and our Alumni. I'm currently planning an event that will be held on the first free night (Friday 25th Jan) at Congress, hope to see you all there! Fun Fact: I have a cat named Moomoo
