villa in santorini The size and the needs of contemporary modern buildings, are many and demanding, and most of the times incompatible with the rocky and dry santorinian landscape. It is a real challenge to find the ways not to compete and destroy the nature but to actually be a part and integrate with the surroundings. The basic building features of this and the other buildings around the island are the solid volumes, the thick masonry walls with small openings, the whitewashed plaster skin covering almost everything with an integrative power and the creation of composition through continuous repetition. All these elements are producing organic urban building forms, evolving through a long response to the climatic conditions skillfully using the locally available resources, and at the same time imprinting the social evolution through time. Below. The kitchen and the dining area located on the lower floor
section
The residence is devided into two floors. Both of them have been sculpted into the rocky cliff which is typical for the santorinian architecture. The openings are small, and are mostly restricted to the front side. Two staircases are running along the sides, meeting the first balcony and continuing to the lower level where the main entrance of the house is located. The lower level is the main living area, with the livingroom, the kitchen, the storage, and the master bedroom, while on the upper floor there are three more bedrooms and the main bathroom. The modern construction methods require steel mesh, sprayed concrete and cement blocks however combined with local constuction materials makes the building become a part with its’ surroundings. Therefore, local masonry, wood, and plaster are the main features and the ones that make it stand out

120m² apartment in a suburb of Athens The aim of this project was to redesign a 120m² split level apartment situated just outside Athens in Greece to meet the needs of a business man. A beautifully decorated, down to the smallest detail apartment was created to ensure that the client will benefit from a cosy and relaxing atmosphere during his business and leisure trips. A small storage and the luxurious master bedroom with direct access to the garden are located on the ground floor, while on the upper floor there is a big sized kitchen with a mini bar and a dining table. In addition on the same floor there is a spacious living area with a small attic just above to ensure some privacy during business meetings.

cargo beer lounge The cargo bar, is a 72m² bar, located in Thessaloniki, Greece. Rails with cargo wagons rise above the tables. Furniture out of pallets, vintage table chairs and floor tiles, rough dar wall surfaces, dark grey stone cladding, create a unique environment. Climb in your wagon, relax with a beer in your hand and let your imagination free to travel to places where gold miners made their living in the far west
Detail of the bar made out of light wood panels. Unique stands and stools made out of pallets and custom made lights hanging above the sitting area
Detail of the old oil lamps hanging above the sofa. The dark stone cladding contrasts the light colored wood.
Plan showing the very efficient aligment to tables, stands and other facilities, creating an easy circulation around the bar
Dark grey brick cladding combined and rough black wall surfaces brought together with the light wooden textures.
contemporary hotel suite
This contemporary hotel suite is designed in a unique style, reflecting minimalism in strict lines and colors; the use of monochrome palletes, black coated oak furniture units, black and white photos of capitals around the world decorating the walls. The green carpet adds to the atmosphere allowing everything to stand out. Two of the room’s most inviting features would be the luxurious king sized white leather bed and the semi opaque glazing separating the room from the bathroom, allowing the two areas to communicate, letting the natural light come through.
