CommUnity Wellness Day
Unity Church of Christ will hold its inaugural CommUnity Wellness Day on September 10 at the Mount Laurel Chapel. They invite everyone to join them on a journey on the yellow brick road toward wellness. Participants will meet the famous Wizard of Oz characters that live in each of us and represent our inner guidance toward wholeness. “We are excited to be hosting a wellness experience that speaks to Unity’s spiritual roots in healing and our church’s present commitment to the larger community,” says Margaret Quern-Atkins, event chairperson. “We have a fantastic list of holistic practitioners, speakers, workshop presenters and sustainable companies sharing information about their practice to help with the healing and transformation of mind, body, heart and soul.” Activities and workshops include nutrition, sound healing, financial wellness, permaculture, somatic movement, children’s crafts and more. Adds Quern-Atkins, “The aim is to provide empowerment for ourselves, our families and our communities toward a life of positivity, wellness and spiritual living—following the yellow brick road to ‘no place like home ... within you!’”

Breathwork is an active meditation that involves gentle guidance to relax the mind to a subconscious state to simultaneously work on the mind, emotions, body and spirit. Pranic healing involves scanning the human aura to detect the imbalances of energies, known as energetic congestion and depletion.
