Research - findings I did a research about the Souq in Oman , and I get that the old markets with independent architectural units were linked to the areas of actual residential communities, and their importance was related to these population exercises and their function in the regional system, so they extended along the main roads and ports, and they reached between the different environments and those residential communities and from here the Omani companies in addition to their important commercial job with another job That is, it was playing whatever it was in the social exchange and exchange of news between different population groups. Market facilities in Oman can be divided into the following: 1 - Dense built markets consisting of a network of roofed shops in the center of the old city connected to residential neighborhoods and close to the mosque, with independent architectural units devoted to sale. 2- As for the other type of market facility in Oman , it is a different style, characterized by having a self-contained building that occupies a separate space, has fences and gates that are closed in the event that the market stops working and is often far from the residential area and close to the fort and the mosque.

I choose to redesign the souq because i decided that i want to add one more floor so in total the souq will be two floors. From the Souq research that i did i find out : -The sun movement around the year goes from East to West with slight bend towards the South. - The building oriented toward the North East. - The prevailing wind coming from the North East . I choose to build a wind tower in each corner so that the air will be well spred in the building. wind-towers were built using local construcation methods and natural materials, their design and aesthetic appearance provides an architectural example in harmony with traditional society and the environment. There were no bathrooms on the souq so i add the bathrooms in the new souq building wich will be more functional for the visitors. The material that i use is mud because i would like to give the souq a tradishonal design . The second floor will be well shaided.
