2021 Employees of the Year

2021 EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR

The City of Nassau Bay has outstanding employees. Each year, the employees have the opportunity to vote for co-workers who they feel make a positive impact in the lives of the citizens we serve and their co-workers. While we have many people who do this on a daily basis, the votes helped us narrow it down for our Employee of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, and Officer of the Year.

Employee of the Year: Tiffany Hatton

Nassau Bay Police Department Office Manager Tiffany Hatton has worked for the City since 2004. She is well-respected by co-workers both within the department and throughout the organization. "As Office Manager, Tiffany is not only an extremely valuable piece of PD operations, but she is also dedicated to the success of the department," Nassau Bay Police Chief Tim Cromie said. "Her knowledge on records operations is irreplaceable. But most of all, she is a great person and cares about her co-workers."

Supervisor of the Year: Kirk Clawson

Kirk Clawson was promoted to the position of Parks Crew Leader with the Public Works Department in August 2021. He has been a valued member of the Public Works Department for two years. In his position, he oversees three major parks and facilities as well as dozens of City medians. "Kirk has stepped up to several challenges in the last couple of years including a major freeze that damaged a lot of plants and flowers," Public Works Director Paul Lopez said. "He is doing a great job training his new employees and getting the City looking great."

Officer of the Year: Jacob Arnesen

Officer Jacob Arnesen began his career with the Nassau Bay Police Department in 2020. During that time, he has earned the respect of his co-workers and leadership. "Jacob is a superb young officer with a policeman’s heart. He is focused and fearless, while at the same time, compassionate and caring, which is an awesome pairing for a great career in police work," Cromie said. "Jacob has worked hard in his education, and we look forward to great things from him."

Celebrating 40 Years of Service: Officer Henry "Hank" Hughes

We would also like to recognize Officer Henry "Hank" Hughes for 40 years of service to the City of Nassau Bay, 37 of which were served as a police officer. "Henry 'Hank' Hughes is a fixture in Nassau Bay," Cromie said. "Hank has a love for this community that only comes from having lived and grown up in Nassau Bay."
