CASTING CALL During New Zealand’s two-year pandemic pause, fish spawned unpressured in Kiwi streams. With the country’s reopening, the 23-suite Farm at Cape Kidnappers in Hawke’s Bay on the North Island and its Robertson Lodges’ sibling, the South Island’s 16-room Matakauri Lodge in Queenstown, have introduced heli-fishing. Anglers are whisked over mountains to remote riverbanks to cast for abundant brown and rainbow trout.
