Investment passport of Vinnytsia region is created by the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine in collaboration with Vinnytsia Regional State Administration. It contains qualitative up-to-date comprehensive information on competitive advantages and investment opportunities of the region; it aims at disclosure and realization of its investment potential. 1.1. Geography and climate MAP OF THE REGION
AREA OF THE REGION – 26.5 thousand km² ALTITUDE ABOVE SEA LEVEL — 234 m Maximum altitude – 384 m above sea level. PRECIPITATION From 520 to 590 mm a year, including about 80% during the warm season. Moderately continental climate, relatively mild winters and warm humid summers. AVERAGE TEMPERATURE January: - 5.0 Ñ°, July: +19.0 Ñ° SUNNY DAYS PER YEAR – 120

WATER RESOURCES OF THE REGION Water resources of the region are represented by rivers, streams, reservoir storages and ponds. According to the Land Registry data and Water Management Administration credential the total area of water resources of the region is 108,258 ha. There is a dense network of rivers in the region which belong to the basins of three major rivers – Pivdennyi Buh (approximately 62% of the area), Dnister (28%) and Dnipro (10%). 241 river flow within the area of the region. The largest river which stretches mostly (317 m) flows within the area of the region and divides it into almost equal parts is Pivdennyi Buh which receives 14 tributaries from the left side and 14 from the right one. In the south-west at the
border with Chernivtsi region and Moldova, the second largest river in Ukraine – Dnister – flows within the area of the region. The following rivers of the extreme north-east belong to Dnipro basin: Ros, Rostavytsia and Hnylopiat, only partially flowing thought the area of the region.

1.4. Education There were 948 comprehensive schools with 154.2 thousand pupils in 2012/2013 school year. There are 4 private schools for 326 pupils in Vinnytsia region. Vocational technical schools amounted to 36 units with 17.6 thousand students. Training of personnel with higher education by professional orientation is carried out in 22 higher education institutions (HEI), among which 17 HEI have I-II accreditation levels, 5 HEI have III-IV accreditation levels. HEI are divided into types in the following way: •2 technical schools •2 specialized schools •11 colleges •5 universities •2 institutes 46.1 thousand people have got an education in HEI of all the levels of accreditation. 1.6. Economic potential PRIORITY SECTORS OF ECONOMY IN THE REGION In 2012 there were 8,744 large, medium and small businesses, including 13.6% or 1,187 industrial enterprises with 83.9% comprised by small businesses. Food and energy sectors dominate in sales of industrial products making up about 80% in the total volume of products sold be the region. EXPORT/IMPORT, COUNTRIES, BALANCE In 2012 the enterprises and organizations of Vinnytsia region exported products to 92 countries of the world; imported articles were brought from 82 countries. Export deliveries amounted to 652.4 mln USD that is by 1.4% more than in 2011; imports decreased by 29.6% and amounted to 498.4 mln USD. The following services dominated in the structure of export of services by economic activities: - real estate services, leasing and services provided to legal entities – 52.2% - services in processing industry – 25.3% - educational services – 10.2% Compared to 2011 volume of exports related to wholesale and retail trade increased by 3.1 times, real estate activities, leasing and services provided to legal entities – by 1.6 times. MAJOR FOREIGN INVESTORS In 2012 foreign investors contributed 24.7 mln USD of direct investment (stock capital) into the economy of the region. The volume of foreign direct investment (stock capital) contributed from the beginning of the investment period to the economy of the region as of December 31, 2012 amounted to 245.4 mln USD, that is by 8.4% more than the foreign investment at the beginning of 2012; it amounts to 151.1 USD per capita. In 1996, Lityn Milk Plant PrJSC was founded. In 2004, Bilozhar TM was launched, new shops were put into operation.

Currently the enterprise is one of the leaders in diary products manufacturing in Ukraine. The plant is developing dynamically constantly increasing its production capacity and introduces new products into the market. Current production facilities allows processing of up to 300 tons of milk per day. Lityn Milk Plant PrJSC are known not only in all the regions of Ukraine but is also exported to Russia, Poland, Japan and Algeria.
Today Nemiroff Vodka Company, founded in 1992, is the largest manufacturer and exporter of alcoholic beverages in the country. February, 29 2004 the second plant of the company was officially put into operation; its technical equipment has no analogues in Europe; Nemiroff is recognized an international spirits brand.

Finally, Nemiroff is an international brand, which for the first time in the history of the ratings of World's Millionaires Club (UK) managed to become the brand with the most dynamic growth rate exceeding 40% for two consecutive years in 2003 and 2004.
Barlinek Invest Polish-Ukrainian Company belongs to the enterprises of Barlinek Group (Poland) and is the largest manufacturer of threelayer fabricated wood block flooring in Ukraine. Investment volume into the construction of Barlinek plant in Vinnytsia amounted to about 75 mln USD. The enterprise started operation in October 2007.

Joint Ukrainian-Austrian enterprise with foreign investment in the form of Pfanner Bar CJSC was founded on July 9, 1999 to establish processing of agricultural products and bottling of neat juices in packaging of Tetra Pak type. Hermann Pfanner Getränke GmbH Austrian company is one of world's leaders in production of juices and juice-containing beverages. Pfanner trade mark is one of the oldest and the most famous in Europe.
AGRANA Fruit Luka started its activity in 2001 with the agricultural project of Podillia OBST company (currently AGRANA Fruit Ukraine), whose purpose was to supply primary products for further processing. Currently it specializes in the processing of fruit and berries and full-cycle production from growing and harvesting of primary products to the processing and manufacturing of finished products.

AGRANA Fruit Ukraine is Ukrainian division of one of the largest manufacturers of fruit-based products. Fruit fillings, concentrated juices and puree are produced, refrigerated and aseptic berries are sublimated in Ukraine under AGRANA trade mark. In addition, the company grows and markets (including export) various fruit plants.
August 21, 2012 a new shop No. 5 in chocolate production was launched. It is planned in the short run to build the third stage of Vinnytsia Confectionery PJSC – concentrated milk factory worth about 300 mln UAH; to reconstruct III and IV floors of the shop No. 5 of Vinnytsia Confectionery PJSC located within the area of Stryzhavka Village Council worth about 100 mln UAH; to reconstruct Vinnytsia Confectionery PJSC bases located in 43 Chekhov St. worth about 30 mln USD. Another 370 mln UAH will be used to purchase manufacturing equipment for concentrated milk factory and the 4th and 5th floors of the shop No. 5 of Vinnytsia Confectionery PJSC.

Currently, the enterprise is developing, the production is being improved, modern equipment is being installed. Today, Vinnytsia Confectionery PJSC is a modern enterprise certified according to international standards. It specializes in the production of candies, caramel, toffee, sponge cakes and chocolate. Total confectionery production volume is about 20 tons per year. The products are sold in Ukraine, CIS countries, the EU and Asia, their quality has been repeatedly recognized.
In 2010, the construction of Vinnytsia Broiler PrJSC poultry farm was launched and is currently being constructed in the city Ladyzhyn with the capacity of 400 tons of chicken per year and Ladyzhyn mixed fodder production plant worth 750 mln USD; completion of construction is scheduled for 2013-2014. In 2012, the first stage of Vinnytsia complex was constructed and put into operation. Reaching an annual production level of about 220 tons is scheduled for the middle 2014.

Tulchynka is the famous Ukrainian industrial and trade mark founded in 1927, the leader of the dairy industry in Ukraine with the capacity of over 100 tons of finished products per day.

Tulchynka is Ukrainian trade mark of diary butter, spreads, blends and cheeses produced by Tulchynskyi Creamery LLC, founded in 1927.

For 15 years already the company has been producing high quality dairy products from domestic primary products of superior and first grade. At present, the range of Lustdorf LLC is more than 40 kinds of dairy products produced under the well-known and popular among consumers brands.
In Turbiv urban settlement Vin-Pellet LLC purchased the property complex of Turbo-nafta LLC to build a factory for the production of solid biofuel from agricultural and forestry waste products. Construction and supplying with manufacturing equipment factory in Turbiv urban settlement will be implemented in two stages. The implementation of the first stage began in late 2010, a trial runs of the first production line was made in October 2012. The completion of the second stage was scheduled for 2014.
Vin-Pellet LLC (Ukraine)
Vin-Pellet LLC was founded in 2009. The main activity is the production of biofuel in Ukraine. The production and putting into operation of 20 plants is scheduled to 2020 with the capacity of more than 2.5-3 mln t of the finished products a year that is equal to 1.5 bln m³ of natural gas.
In the nearest future the factory producing concentrated juice plans to start operation in the city of Lypovets, creating new jobs and significant revenue to the district budget.
Yablunevyi Dar Company
Yablunevyi Dar Company was founded in 2003 in the city of Horodok of Lviv region as a producer of concentrated juices. The company has passed the rapid development path and became number 1 manufacturer of concentrated juices in Ukraine. The company's products are exported to the countries of Eastern and Western Europe and are recognized by reputed manufacturers of juices and baby food.
February 4, 1997, Lustdorf LLC was founded on the basis of Illintsi Dairy Factory.

1.8. Transport and communications The transport of Vinnytsia region is a system of transport services, which include road, local and intercity rail, electric urban surface, river and air transport. There are the following international check-points in the region: for Mohyliv-Podilskyi - Otach motor traffic; Mohyliv-Podilskyi - Volchynets railway traffic; Yampil-Cosauti river traffic; Bolhan-Hristovaia motor traffic; Vinnytsia air traffic. In addition, there are interstate check-points: for Tsekynivka-Soroka river traffic; Velyka Kisnytsia-Khrushka motor traffic and a number of local check-points. The work on building Bronnytsia - Unhuri check-point is promoted by EU assistance. After completion of construction it is expected to change the category of the check-point from the local to the international one. MAJOR MOTORWAYS Vinnytsia region is equidistant from the eastern and western state borders (the distance to the Russian Federation is 450 km/6 hours by motor transport, to the EU border – 420 km/5 hours 30 minutes) There is a 202 km long part of the state border of Ukraine with the Republic of Moldova in the region. There is a transport connection with EU countries and Balkan Peninsula through Moldova.

The region is close to the seaports with access to the Mediterranean Sea (Odesa – 430 km/6 hours, Mykolaiv – 465 km/6 hours, Kherson – 533 km/7 hours). Vinnytsia region has an extensive network of national and local roads – 9,530 km. Ukraine ranks first in Europe by transitivity ratio (and Vinnytsia region ranks first in Ukraine). The road density is one of the greatest in Ukraine and amounts to 360 km per 1,000 km² of the area. In the future, the area will be traversed by Europe - Caucasus - Asia (TRACECA) and Gdansk - Odesa transport corridors. RAILWAY NETWORK The railway network of the region is 1,074 km, it links all the major industrial centres of the region with the cities of Ukraine, CIS and Europe. • Largest rail interchanges: Vinnytsia, Zhmerynka, Koziatyn and Vapniarka. AIRPORTS Vinnytsia International Airport is located in two kilometres from the city of Vinnytsia and in 7.5 km from the railway station of the regional centre. The airport is allowed to service international flights. The length of the runway is 2,500 meters, which allows operating such aircrafts as Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. Airport complex has a capacity of 400 passengers per hour with a waiting room for 150 people. Currently, Lodz - Vinnytsia - Lodz charter flight of Jet Air airline is carried out; there is a communication with 38 cities of Europe form Lodz. Since May 10, 2013 Motor Sich Airlines (Zaporizhzhia) launched Vinnytsia - Moscow and Moscow - Vinnytsia flights, scheduled flights to Moscow are carried out twice a week. BUS TERMINALS Passenger transport is an important component of an industrial infrastructure of the region. Scheduled bus communication covers all the cities and 84.9% of villages. The network of bus routes includes 378 commuter and 195 intercity routes. There 3 bus terminals in Vinnytsia region: Central Bus Terminal No. 1, Western Bus Terminal No. 2 providing intercity and interregional passenger service as well as Eastern Bus Terminal No. 3 for intraregional passenger service and 17 bus stations.
WATER ROUTES There is a system of river motor vessels carrying out passenger and excursion tours by Pivdennyi Buh River. Ordinary trips are carried out by Lialia Ratushna and Mykola Pyrohiv running between Zhovtneva Sq. - Sabariv (from landing stage near the central bridge to the landing stage not far away from Sabariv hydroelectric power station (HPS)). Quay and Roshen fountain
In 2011, the fountain was built with a unique design which is not found in Europe. It impresses by its size. The height of the central arch is 70 m, the length of the platform on which the fountain is mounted is 95 m. It operates through the work of 67 pumps pumping water from the river. During the first year of operation musical fountain in Vinnytsia was visited by almost million people.

MUSEUMS Museums of Vinnytsia region are the main centres of conservation of the material and spiritual culture of Ukrainian people. In Vinnytsia region there are the following museums: M.I. Pyrohov National Museum-Estate (Vinnytsia), Academician D. Zabolotnyi Museum (Zabolotne village of Kryzhopil district) and 120 museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine. CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION Cross-border cooperation of the region is actively realized within the framework of activity of Dnister Euroregion which was created February 2, 2012. Currently, the members of Euroregion are Vinnytsia region of Ukraine and Soroca, Donduseni, Ocnita, Floresti, Soldanesti, Rezina and Dubasari districts of the Republic of Moldova.
In June 2012, the first economic forum in the framework of Dnister Euroregion in the city of Soroca (Republic of Moldova) was held, and in October Dnister Euroregion has held its presentation in the Committee of the Regions (CoR) of EU.

Extending our international cooperation, in November 2012 in Iasi (Romania) the agreement was signed with Siret - Prut - Nistru Euroregion.
Dnister Euroregion and the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine signed an agreement that will provide the opportunity to efficiently contribute to the development of border management procedures that meet the standards of the European Union and ensure meeting the needs of citizens of Moldova and Ukraine, people crossing the border as well as businesses, which in turn strengthens regional security and promotes economic development.
