WELCOME P H O T O G R A P H Y is something that has always been very natural for me, ever since a family vacation to Disneyworld when I was 14 when I took over my mom’s point and shoot film camera and wouldn’t let go of it the whole trip. Shortly after that I assisted a neighbour who was photographing his nephew’s wedding. That’s when I received my first Nikon 35mm SLR with one lens. Sigh….. I felt like I had been given a gift of gold. When I was in my early 20s I remember driving across the Burrard Street Bridge in Vancouver with a friend and we were chatting about how we viewed the world. She measured the city skyline by how many buildings her horse could jump over. I viewed the skyline as to how I would frame my composition for a photograph. Our eyes looked at the same city, yet we both saw what we truly loved. Those were the moments that kept me passionate about photography. I pursued other activities such as acting in theatrical shows, film and TV projects, producing live theater and travelling the world, but somehow I always kept coming back to my roots. Twenty years later I am on the same path only now with trained eyes, much more education and dedication to my craft. I couldn’t be happier. I hope my images speak to you the way they have spoken to me over the last two decades and help you feel how I see love. For me it’s about capturing the moments: when a mother breathes in the scent of her child and a father gazes in amazement at his own kin. N E W B O R N S E S S I O N S Please dress baby in a onesie that snaps or zips up the front so we do not wake the baby upon arrival and when undressing. Please have RDP take the baby out of the car seat also to try and avoid waking up the baby upon arrival.

F E E D + B U R P baby before leaving for the session so their belly is nice and full upon arrival.

D R E S S Y O U R S E L F I N L AY E R S as sessions usually take two hours and the studio is kept quite warm.

NEWBORN POSES WILL BE DONE F I R S T assuming baby has not been woken up and then if family photos are requested they will be done near the end of the session.

ALL PROOFS AND/OR GALLERIES will be ready within 2 weeks after the session for viewing.

Build a wardrobe to compliment your baby. Add accessories like coloured wraps, scarfs, blankets, etc, to add a splash of colour or contrast to the portraits.

Before we look in detail at what your baby should wear, you need to consider what colours you want in the pictures.

Avoid brands and logos – they will make the photo dated in time as well as create a significant distraction.

Lightly patterned jumpers or delicate flower prints on girl’s dresses can really add to an image.

Don’t worry about your baby’s photo shoot – you are in good hands and I will guide you every step of the way.

STUDIO ADDRESS The studio is located at 215-1610 Pandora Street. The cross street is Woodland and it is one block south of Powell street between Clark and Commercial Drive. You will see a large green building on the corner and there is free street parking out front. The studio is up the stairs on the right called Slant Studios. P R E PA R I N G YO U R L I T T L E O N E Please remember to review the checklist (p.7). WORKING THROUGH THE SHOOT WITH THE CHILDREN As long as preparations have been made, your child’s photo shoot should be smooth sailing! Don’t forget you’re in the hands of a professional and I will be there every step of the way to ensure you are happy with the final product. IT’S A WRAP New born sessions are usually two hours depending on the need of feeding breaks.
