The Populate3D command fills the set geometry with points. When inputted into the voronoi comment, this creates 3D cells in the geometry, which can be moved/deleted.

The PopulateGeometry command fills the set geometry with points. When inputted into the Octree command, it partitions the space into a structured set of boxes. To change the number of points each leaf (box) contains, or the size of the boxes, a slider can be attached to the Groups input.

WEEK 2 -PAVILIONS I began with a set of curves and referenced these into rhino. The next step was to loft them. I attached this to a surface box.

I created a 2 dimensional domain and divided this. I attached it to the surface box. Under the options, click reparameterize to create the boxes around the loft. Height can be altered using slider. Form a mesh, reference it into grasshopper, and connect it to a BoxMorph. Connect surface box to BoxMorph to display the mesh within the boxes surrounding the loft. Hide other components to see the mesh creating the shape.

As I was playing around with the curves and lofts, I was wondering how I could connect this with the CERES site. When looking at the repeated triangular mesh I used to morph into my loft, it reminded me of the wings of a bird. I then slightly altered my curves to mimic the shape of the wings of a bird in flight, a scene very common at the environmental site. In this way, my design was the result of computation experimentation.

WEEK 2 -POINT ATTRACTORS AND PARAMETRIC DESIGN

I LOVE THE ORGANIC NATURE OF THE FORMS DESIGNED BY MARC FORNES AND THEREFORE DECIDED TO IMPLEMENT THEM IN MY DESIGN. IT REMINDS ME OF INTERSECTING CORAL OR ANEMOMES THAT HAS INDENTATIONS AND HOLES FOR ANIMALS TO SEEK SAFETY. THE LOFTING OF THE CURVES ALLOWS THESE SOFT, ORGANIC SHAPES TO BE FORMED.
