Rimmel Project
The brief Rimmell has teamed up with ‘W’ Magazine to launch a new range of make-‐up aimed at the adolescent / young adult market which will be published in the August 2016 issue. The magazine has commissioned you to produce 2 double page spreads which showcases their new range of make-‐up in a creative and inventive way that will appeal to a youth market. The general theme of the shoot is ‘Bring the Colour Out’.
We came up with the idea of using pop art within our photography project. The reason for this is because the colours used are bright/vibrant colours and can easily catch the audiences eyes, also bright/vibrant makeup isn’t seen as much as standard makeup so this would catch a lot of attention. Rimmel don’t have a wide range of bright/vibrant colours for their selection so this would be a big boost for them. All ideas involve the slogan “Bring the Colour Out”. The idea for this slogan will be written in a pop art text/font (shown below) which will be photoshopped onto the final outcome.
The layout The layout of our double page spread would be both model and the products. Three pages will be filled with models modelling the makeup and will be focused mostly on the eyes, lips and nails as this is what we have decided on. The main reason we will be using models as well as the products is it will give a clear idea of how it will look on the audiences. The last page will show what products have been used and what will be featured as well.
