The main focus will be the development of a tectonic system (structure, space, and enclosure) to both remain buoyant and to permit the occupation of space. This constructed environment will be examines the relationship to the larger site context and the environmental forces to which the buoyant structure must respond.

AEDICULE DESIGN STUDIO i STUDY OF FORM AND FUNCTION

THe relationship between the human body and hoe people relate to different spacial heiarchy . An aedicule in my terms after studying the concept and looking into the history. It’s defined as a space within a space, that’s habitable. It’s almost portal like, walking into another dimension. I wanted to play with the lighting, so the client feels like they are in another dimension It’s peliminary ideas I wanted to connect the funneling aspect, because it was both seen in my interloc, how the dowel is funneled in. As well, in the seating devicehow the client is funnled into the seat, ther person should feel comfortable yet confirmed

INTERLOCK Given three terms to define, the definitions were to create an interlock with three objects without the use of technical adhesive.

DOWEL

The Board is the thickest and largest piece acting as the main body that the sheet caresses to. The Sheet is the thinner piece which circulates around the other pieces. The Dowel is key-ed into the board and sheet, placing everything in place.

SEATING DEVICE The quarter circles are slotted into the board and the triangles to hold the form. The triangles serve as the support system for the weight and the board. Same idea taken from the interlock, now the pieces are needed for the seating device to be a whole such that it ties back with the interlock. Each piece is equally important.

The firm and trans-formative qualities of the building allowed it to last for the time being until present day. After picking either a firm or trans-formative aspect of the precedent, a projection drawing was produced Taking into consideration how people access and use the so desired spaces, horizontal circulation is explained by the various routes that exist, which depends on the function of the spaces. The relationship people have with each other, and each space is critical information that the designer needs to know. The use of facilities and how people interact with these needs have an outcome to the obstacles within the space. To read and interpret. a significance. The existing building’s structural details through transitions in the way space is used through different obstacles. In an abstract sense that a person may encounter a “welcome”, “interrupt”, “choice of direction”, “seduction”, “confrontation”, and “persuasion.” Visualizing the spaces in use to encompass an image.

Horizontal circulation is explained by the various routes that exist, depending on the function of the spaces. Creating a fabricated series of paths, the study of high, medium, low travel is seen through as a “welcome”, “interrupt”, “choice of direction”, “seduction”, “confrontation”, and “persuasion.” Dividing the movement by the intensity of various colours correlates to the importance of certain movements. The lines that run across change from slow to fast movement, and using void is a huge part of how people use to access spaces through circulation.

Palazzo Della Ragione located in Padua Italy is known to be the widest rooms with a roof un-supported by columns. It is used as a tourist sight, but people usually move from entrance to exit in a straight line. The building is often used for multiple art exhibitions which indefinitely changes the movement within the space.

Following and after analyzing Zaha Hadid experiments with the new spatial concepts that intensify existing urban landscape in search of a visionary aesthetic included all field of design, moving from urban dimension to products, from interiors to furniture. She is fundamental to the relationship between architecture and landscape which, combined together, lead to unexpected results in terms of dynamism of forms. In her exhibition the movement of people within the space they would after analyzing the movement of people within the space they would follow the pieces. It seemed as the work persuaded where heavy, medium, and light travel would be.

Changing the whole idea of taking the forms and shapes of the transitional diagram. I had taken the experience from the movements from the diagram, rather than extruding the physical forms. Making it all structurally on one level, with a series of ramps interconnecting into the site. The building successfully connects to the paths that are located in the park. With that the public accessible routes ,would have a high density movement, compared to the more private areas which would have less access, and therefore less circulation. Having the same ideology of high, medium, and low density movements through circulation. For program, the building was given a seminary. So using this program as a way to be with the building, was to mesh public and private. The way of the flow of circulation could be hindered as to what part of the building you were in. So for the centre of the building would be a main central circle of gathering for prayers and as you dispersed out each room conveyed if there was access for heavy travel or light travel. So the type of religion that was occupied in this type of building was people who believed in Pantheism. Since the building inter-connects with nature, it’s reverence of it‘s universe as the ultimate focus and the natural earth is sacred. So it reconciles the concern for humans and the concern for the planet. So having people circulate and connect within the site is pivotal to the program and the experience it gives.

EXPERIMENTAL AXON Our axonometric drawings were each individual designers interpretation of gathered information from the screwed photographs. With this set up for the axonometric drawing the designer had the freedom to experiment by projecting, adding, and subtracting certain aspects from both photographs. By doing so, what was once a 2 dimensional photograph, created multiple 3 dimensional objects that did not contain any scale.

Focusing on these particular objects it allowed photos to form geometric sequences, than could generate spatial structures. With that the axonometric was put onto 2 wooden board to create a wooden relief site. Then after with excavation, adding, and various other methods, a threshold and a cut plane were placed on the wooden relief site, and the original wooden model had been placed to fit the conditions for the client of the project.

IMPERSONATOR We were asked to place our original wooden model and use various methods of cutting, rotating to accomplish a habitable space for a client we were given, this specific client was a librarian named Deborah, she was very structural in the way she thought so the idea was to use the patterned planes, and horizontal lines with the intersecting dowels to create a form a unity and a condition that is seen very integral to her outside personality. But the other side of her personality was that she was DB Stardust which led way for an extroversion type of architecture. By taking the arc from the wooden model, it made way for an atrium for her performance area. Also extracting multiple objects to create seating area was very doable with the circulation that was created in the front. Circulation was something that was thought about alot throughout this process, essentially she is one person, she just has two persona. So there should be that fluidity from one side to another without physical barriers.
