The material allows easy cleaning and most importantly it is very economical. Wooden blinds would also look nice in the kitchen. It could be cleaned with clothe damped with basic soap-based cleaners but when grime builds up because of its exposure to moisture and oil, it could not be submerged in water because it will wear off. But, to protect them from getting soiled easily, wax or furniture polish should be applied regularly
