Smoke Alarm Solutions What You Need To Know! Your Solution A comprehensive annual service designed to protect you from litigation & penalties & to increase the safety of your tenants. We will ensure you fully meet all your legislated responsibilities in regard to smoke alarms. Our Service We will attend your property to inspect, clean & maintain all existing alarms. Change batteries, test decibel output, relocate 9 volt alarms & ensure alarms have not passed their expiry date. Clean alarms, check they meet Australian Standards & remove the alarms to check connections & power supply is reaching alarms. We will re-attend at each tenancy change & tenancy renewal. No additional cost to re-attend your property when a tenancy changes or if there is a fault. Inspection & Compliance Report After every attendance, we will issue a detailed Report to you or your property manager. This report is proof that you fully meet your responsibilities & would be extremely important in the event of a fire. The Cost Enjoy peace of mind for only $75 per year (fully taxdeductible). This low cost includes all visits to your property in a year, free batteries and free reporting. Please talk to your property manager for full details. Your Responsibilities Smoke alarm maintenance is governed by both State & Federal legislation. Each state has different requirements. In all cases, a person who does not comply with this legislation is guilty of an offence.

Let us manage your other rentals Smoke Alarm Solutions Do you have landlord protection? Properties recently rented & sold
The Rules Landlords must ensure their rental property is fitted with the required number of working alarms complying with Australian Standard. Under this legislation, landlords or agents must test & clean each smoke alarm within 30 days prior to each tenancy change or tenancy renewal. Also, landlords or agents must replace each battery that is flat or almost flat & must also replace the smoke alarm before it reaches the end of its useful life. The legislation prohibits the transfer of this responsibility to the tenant. P.T.O >
Your Risks Failure to take every practical step to ensure the safety of your tenants & property may result in the dismissal of insurance claims for damage, personal injury or loss of life. Your duty-of-care requires you to have working smoke alarms installed in accordance with the BCA & Australian Standards, which are regularly maintained and replaced when necessary (faulty or expired). Failure to comply may result in a $500 penalty.
