How much food we waste at home
Brazilian families waste 128 kilos of food per year. Brazilian families waste 350 grams of food a day. It is estimated that 39.000 tons of food are wasted per day in Brazil! The number is enough to feed 19 million people at three daily meals. Just ask for what you will consume. Leaving food on the plate, in your house or in restaurants, is a waste not only of money, but especially of food, since leftovers go to waste while some people don’t have any food to eat.
