Margate is a seaside town in the county of Kent; once a prolific holiday resort boasting many thousands of visitors every summer, it’s gradual but evident decline in tourism has affected the town holistically. This is physically manifested through its vast amount of abandoned buildings and derelict sites, such as the proposed. Within this scheme modern building types have been harmonised with local urban forms and design strategies have been associated with the merging of an ideal typology to a specific environment. With a sensitivity to form, scale and materiality the following design exists to demonstrate how architecture can and should be designed for the benefit of the end user.
