SEMINARS AT THE CARPET CLEANERS CARNIVAL 2015 Throughout the day there will be a number of seminars, all hosted by industry experts. The first three seminars form a cohesive, comprehensive and complete marketing programme. Marketing your business is just as important as the services you offer and it's not just new 'startups' that need a bit of help. It's a fact, even for an existing well-established company, that increasing your marketing knowledge can make a real positive difference to your business. With competition increasing every day you need proven marketing techniques you can use to generate demand for your existing services. Our integrated programme will help you to implement a marketing plan that will sharpen your skills and enable you to stay ahead of the competition. It will take you through everything you need to know from your initial promotional material right through to how to close the sale and 'clinch the deal'. And, for those of you who want to expand your carpet and upholstery cleaning skills, we are also running a technical seminar, hosted by industry expert Paul Pearce, providing invaluable advice on how to clean luxury carpets and soft furnishings… an area which many people struggle with. See opposite page for full information on seminars.

THE CARPET CLEANERS CARNIVAL 2015

MODERN MARKETING STRATEGIES - DIANE DUVNJAK (MD Carpet Cleaning & Gold Member of Digital Experts Academy) Do you need more customers? In her seminar Diane will provide you with a guide to modern marketing strategies and ideas on how to connect with your target audience. The areas covered will include: ŸYour business (where is your market?) ŸYour numbers (how much do you need to be making, how much do you WANT to make?) ŸMarketing today, an overview and the Parthenon Method - what is working for everyone else? Years ago it was the good old yellow pages and local papers/magazines. And today? Where do you start? And what to do next. ŸFacebook and internet marketing - linking it all together with CRM (Aweber and Mail Chimp) ŸCopy - what are your Ads like? The slippery slope. (A formula from the best in the marketing world for all your advertising) ŸGetting help… where? (And… beware of the web designer!) ŸQ&A MARKETING MAGIC: IDEAS TO IMPROVE YOUR BUSINESS STRAIGHT AWAY - ALLAN SIMMONS (GetBookedUp) A seminar full of real world ideas from someone who 'walks the walk' and uses his ideas in his own five-van carpet cleaning business. Whether you're a one man owner/operator, or a multi-van business with office staff, Allan will share ideas you can go away and implement straight away to improve your business. So, if you want to know how to improve your conversion rate, increase your average job value, have more cash, and time to spend doing what YOU want to do, then make sure you get to Allan's seminar. Last year the room was packed, so be there early to see this and don't forget to bring a notepad and pen. MARKETING AND SELLING SKILLS - STUART PATE (thebestof) In his seminar Stuart will provide you with some excellent marketing strategies to help you promote your business, together with advice on how to 'clinch

that deal' once you have your foot in the door. The areas covered will include: Marketing: ŸStraightforward marketing tools to promote your business. ŸHow to get your business noticed in a busy marketplace. ŸHow to get visibility, credibility and demonstrate a value for money service. ŸHow to compete against the DIY market. ŸGetting, and using, reviews to market your business. ŸMaking use of the internet. ŸUsing Social Media. Selling Skills: ŸWhat to do when your marketing creates an opportunity. ŸThe basic steps to convert an enquiry into a sale. ŸManaging the sales process. ŸManaging your sales pipeline. ŸHow to compete in a price sensitive market. ŸClosing the sale. THE CLEANING OF LUXURY FIBRES AND FABRICS PAUL PEARCE (Country House Carpet Care) There has been a lot of talk lately about the cleaning of luxury carpet and upholstery fibres and fabrics. Some people are too scared to touch these soft furnishings, mainly because of the many horror stories they have heard. You will probably have heard these stories yourself on the training schools you've been on, or read about them on one of the cleaning forums. Well… the thing is, the stories you have heard are actually true and there is no perfect answer to the cleaning of these items. Indeed, fibre producers have created new - or expanded on - their existing ranges because they are aware of the issues associated with the cleaning of plant fibres. The trouble is that the designers, the high-end clients, and manufacturers worldwide, still love their luxury fibres and therefore will continue to specify the use of them. Continued on next page

THE CARPET CLEANERS CARNIVAL 2015

Continued from previous page

Mind you, you have to admit they are lovely to walk on. But this doesn't help you as a professional carpet and upholstery cleaner does it, especially when XYZ Interior Designers call you up to clean one of these troublesome items. They know it's an issue, but… “Aren't you the expert that can get them out of trouble?” Paul's seminar will provide you with some excellent advice on how to help maintain luxury fibres when they have been subjected to a multitude of wandering feet, spillages that really shouldn't happen, and the unfortunate misuse of a proprietary cleaning product. He's not promising that he can tell you how to bring an item back to a pristine condition, or how to totally remove a stain (you should never promise these things anyway), but he will share with you how to maintain these items safely, carry out some remedial stain removal, and bring some much needed sanity into the whole process. During his seminar Paul will demonstrate his cleaning processes on samples of Viscose, Silk, CottonBamboo and even some Sylka carpet. ******************************************

PRESENTATIONS AT THE CARPET CLEANERS CARNIVAL 2015 Aside from the seminar programme there will also be a short presentation held in the exhibition hall. This is as follows: TRUSTMARK - GLYN CHARNOCK (Chameleon Cleaning) Glyn, who is Training Director and Company Secretary at the NCCA, will be hosting a short presentation on TrustMark, the Government Approved Standards Scheme for tradesmen working in consumers' homes. The presentation will include: ŸWhat is TrustMark? ŸWhy have the NCCA become a Scheme Operator for TrustMark? ŸWhat are the benefits of being TrustMark accredited? ŸHow to join and what it costs.

CCC 2015 Show Guide (page 4)

So, if you are a member of the NCCA and are interested in becoming TrustMark accredited, why not come along to Glyn's presentation and find out what it is all about.

THE ULTIMATE FLOOR SANDING COMPANY The Ultimate Floor Sanding Company was formed in Ireland in 2007 by Terry Guilford, on the back of his experience with a previous company who specialised in the sales, fitting and finishing of wooden flooring. The decision to go floor sanding only was made when the benefits of dust free machinery became obvious and, by marketing this idea, the company grew to thirteen outlets across Ireland. In 2011 Ultimate Floor Sanding entered the UK market using an Affiliate network strategy, recruiting and training existing floor maintenance experts in floor sanding and then going on to promote and support them with the aid of a leading German supplier of machines and floor finishing products. Their UK operation is now larger than the Irish one but they still have territories available and are keen to meet anyone who thinks they may like to add floor sanding to their existing business. Tel: 0744 4411362 E: info@ultimatefloorsanding.com Web: www.ultimatefloorsanding.co.uk THE WOOLSAFE ORGANISATION Since 1998 The WoolSafe Organisation has trained thousands of professional carpet cleaners in correct wool carpet maintenance. The Fibre Care Specialist training course is considered amongst the most challenging in the industry. Those trainees that successfully complete the course and meet the WoolSafe membership criteria are invited to join their global network of WoolSafe Approved Service Providers (WASPs). There are now hundreds of WASPs around the world. They are promoted to carpet owners on the WoolSafe and CleanSeal websites and the awardwinning WoolSafe Carpet Stain Cleaning Guide App. WASPs are recommended by industry bodies such as the British Wool Marketing Board and Wools of New Zealand, retail buying groups and independent retailers as well as countless quality carpet manufacturers.
