CEO SUMMARY
How can I possibly sum up 2020? It has been challenging year for everyone.
The first lockdown devastated the entire world’s economy, and our Members unfortunately were not excluded. With revenues either significantly reduced or non-existent, it was a period of worry and uncertainty making it extremely difficult or impossible to plan.

However, I believe out of every negative situation there are positives to be drawn. The cleaning industry is entering 2021 being significantly more valued, with consumers aware of the need to deep clean and sanitise their properties and furnishings more frequently than before.
During the pandemic we were asked the Association’s advice around whether you could or could not work. We obviously advised that you must follow the current local Government guidelines. The Association ultimately cannot make the call on if you should work or not. We all have different opinions, and classification of risk, and the decision must be made by the respective Member. What we should not do is judge anyone who decides to continue to work as we are all on different journeys. Our advice is simple: comply with your local Government’s guidelines. Members have reacted with great positivity and have adapted their businesses where appropriate. Many have reported that revenue streams have recovered, which is fantastic news. With the imminent vaccine roll out, hopefully we will be back to some sort of normality soon.
I am extremely proud to be the CEO of the NCCA and of the changes we have made to the Association so far. This is a role I thoroughly enjoy. I would like to say a big thank you to all the Directors - Allan, Paul, Nigel, David and Martin, these guys give up their time as volunteers, on most occasions at their costs, a detail that I believe is sometimes forgotten. I would also like to give special thanks to Lauren, who works tirelessly behind the scenes and extremely hard trying to streamline all our processes.
Lastly, a massive thank you to you, the Members, for making the NCCA a fantastic Association.
I REALLY HOPE YOU ENJOY THE MAGAZINE, A BIG THANKS TO ALL THE CONTRIBUTORS. 2021 IS GOING TO BE A GREAT YEAR!
