In Borneo, the third largest island in the world, land and sea teem with exotic endemic species. Spend 11 exhilarating days exploring Malaysian Borneo, on the island’s northeastern edge. Enjoy a day on the island of Pulau Gaya, snorkeling and kayaking among the reefs. Observe orangutans and Malayan sun bears at conservation centers in Sepilok; and visit a community-based organization that’s working to protect Borneo’s rainforests and cultural heritage.

From your base at an eco-lodge on the banks of the Kinabatangan River, spot wildlife along jungle waterways on a river safari and venture into the cathedral-like Gomantong Caves. Then head into the primary rainforests of the Danum Valley Conservation Area where you’ll set out on day and night hikes and canopy walks looking for orangutans, langurs, proboscis monkeys, leopard cats, hornbills, and more.
