Over the past 130 years, we’ve sent our scientists, storytellers, and adventurers across continents and into remote cultures, down to the oceans’ depths and up the highest mountains, in an effort to better understand our planet. Our travel program grew from this legacy as a way to invite others to explore: to encounter the wonders of the world up close, in depth, right at the source— and to be transformed by the experience.

WHEN YOU TRAVEL WITH US, YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE National Geographic and G Adventures believe that travel can and should be a force for good in the world. By traveling with us, you support community projects and initiatives that improve livelihoods in the places we visit. You also support the National Geographic Society’s researchers and explorers who work to preserve, protect, and advance our understanding of the planet and its people. The National Geographic Society receives funds from National Geographic Partners, LLC, funded in part by your purchase. To learn more, visit www.natgeo.com/info.

GET TO KNOW SOME OF OUR CEOS Each trip is led by a Chief Experience Officer—or CEO—your greatest resource on your trip. They’ll share insights on area traditions, connect you with interesting people wherever you go, and even offer recommendations for restaurants or things to do in your free time. Meet a few CEOs below.

DA N I E L B. , CENTRAL AMERICA

P A I N G T. , M YA N M A R ( B U R M A )

I love my job because when I’m walking through a tropical cloud forest or an ancient ruin or when I’m watching whales breach on the Pacific or schools of fish in a coral reef, I can call it my office. I meet people from all over the world and we get to learn from each other, and share great moments that will become cherished memories.

My favorite place to take travelers is Inle Lake. The first thing they see is its natural beauty, and then they get to know the culture and traditions of the people who call this place their home. Seeing the floating villages and leg-rowing fishermen, visiting the local markets, and learning to cook traditional Burmese dishes in a chef ’s home gives our travelers the chance to really understand what life is like here.

It’s incredible to see the change that occurs in people as they experience a new place, watch an animal they had always hoped to see, challenge themselves to try something they never imagined they would, or alter their perception through interaction with a different culture. It’s exciting for me to be there for these experiences, and help travelers make the most out of the trip.

I love having the chance to share my pride and passion for my country with each group of travelers, and to watch them fall in love with Burma, too.

C H I A R A C . , I TA LY One of the best ways to experience Italian culture is through the food—tasting something typical to each region as we travel from north to south, meeting with a family who has run a restaurant for generations, taking part in everyday rituals like drinking espresso after a meal. With each trip I lead, I feel like I’m rediscovering my country. Seeing the history, traditions, and culture through the eyes of our travelers is a new experience each time. The sense of wonder that washes over the group as they see something new and wonderful never gets old for me, from watching the sunset paint the sky on the Amalfi coast to the gasps of amazement at the sight of magnificent architecture (I call this a “whoo” moment!).
