DAYS 1–2 I U.S./KANGERLUSSUAQ, GREENLAND/SISIMIUT Fly by chartered aircraft to Kangerlussuaq and settle into your cabin aboard our Polar Class 5 ship. Cruise out of Kangerlussuaq Fjord towards Sisimiut, exploring the deep fjords and glaciers along the coast. At Sisimiut, a former whaling port, visit the museum, wander among 18th-century wooden buildings, and go on guided walks. National Geographic Resolution for the entire voyage I Meals: 1B, 2L, 2D DAYS 3–4 I DISKO BAY/ILULISSAT/ UUMMANNAQ/QILAKITSOQ Sail into Disko Bay and take an extraordinary cruise among the towering icebergs of the World Heritage–designated Ilulissat Icefjord. Visit the town of Ilulissat and hike to an archaeological site in the Sermermiut Valley. Go ashore at the town of Uummannaq to learn about local life at its excellent community museum. Cross the fjord to the site of the Qilakitsoq settlement, where eight remarkably well-preserved, 500-year-old Thule mummies were discovered in 1972. Meals: 2B, 2L, 2D

DAYS 5–6 I ATANEQ FJORD/ KANGERLUSSUAQ/U.S. Explore the beautiful Ataneq Fjord in true expeditionary style—stopping to hike, kayak, ride Zodiacs, and observe wildlife when the opportunity arises. Hike across the spongy tundra that covers metamorphic rocks at Tununngasoq, searching for arctic foxes and caribou. Kayak along the steep sides of the fjord or enjoy a Zodiac cruise to get up close to the glacially carved landscape. Disembark in Kangerlussuaq the next day for your charter flight back to the U.S. Meals: 2B, 2L, 1D

A diverse expedition team, including an Expedition Leader, a photo instructor, and local naturalists will accompany this trip.
