Introducing the
POWERED BY FORD MOBILITY / CITY:ONE
Streets define the character of our cities.

The values of our streets created a century ago still define the rules of the street today.
What are the values embedded in your city’s streets?
Now is the time to rethink these values. Current trends present us with a rare opportunity to rewrite the rules of the street in line with values that put people at the center. MAI NT E N A N CE

Changing the conversation about streets begins with changing our perspective.
Let’s change how we think about streets.
This chance is once-in-a-century... let’s get it right. To ensure that future streets are better streets, we must unite support for change. As we approach this critical inflection point, we have a responsibility to help communities explore how streets can be transformed for the better. We’re too busy arguing about what everyone wants individually that we don’t talk about what values we share in common. Let’s build support for a set of shared values that make the streets we want in neighborhoods, across city lines and collectively for the public good.

Our 10-week program raises the level of discourse about streets in our cities. Participants are guided through a 4-step curriculum and connected to other fellows in a national cohort.

In search of varied perspectives We proactively recruit and select a diverse cohort of fellows to ensure our streets are shaped by a range of perspectives.
There are many ways to influence the street. Some require leadership while others are focused behindthe-scenes. The program celebrates many ways of working and has been designed to suit different types of engagement. We hire a local lead to ensure cohorts include non-experts, teens, city staff, Ford employees, under-represented groups, public servants, creatives, advocates, skeptics, extroverts and introverts.
People for streets, streets for people.
Let’s co-create future streets for the benefit of all.
What’s in it for Ford, you might ask? All of Ford’s core products and future mobility services operate within the context of the street. Streets have a tangible impact on the experience our customers have when getting from A to B. This precious space between A and B deserves careful consideration to balance the needs of all who share it. Ford sees the impending advancements in technology as an opportunity to, in the words of our CEO Jim Hackett, initiate “a total redesign of the surface transportation system with humans and community at the center.” It’s clear that we can’t do this alone - Ford is only one voice in what must be a much broader conversation. We want to lead by example in building human-centered streets and apply what we learn to foster constructive collaboration with cities, build better products and services, and maintain a direct and authentic connection with the people and communities who inspire us to serve them better.
We’ve learned a lot, we want to learn more with you! The Lifetime Pass to the Street is a reminder that the street is yours - to enjoy, to cherish, to share, and (most importantly) to reshape for the benefit of your communities.
