The Tuskegee Airmen overcame segregation and prejudice to become one of the most highly respected fighter groups of World War II. Their achievements, together with the men and women who supported them, paved the way for full integration of the U.S. military. While some were pilots, others served as operators, medical personnel, quartermasters, parachute riggers, mechanics, bombardiers, navigators, meteorologists, control tower operators, dispatchers, and cooks. The pilots were educated at Tuskegee University [formerly Tuskegee Institute] and trained at three different airfields Moton, Kennedy, and Tuskegee Army Air Field collectively known as the Tuskegee Airfields in Tuskegee, Alabama. Tuskegee Airmen were nicknamed “Red Tails” and “Red Tails Angels,” and their motto was “Spit fire!”

When the United States entered World War II, war production had to increase dramatically in a short amount of time. Women were needed because companies were signing large, lucrative contracts with the government just as all the men were leaving for the service. The government decided to launch a campaign to sell the importance of the war effort and to encourage women to join the workforce. They promoted the fictional character of “Rosie the Riveter” as the ideal woman worker: loyal, efficient, and patriotic.

Nearly 350,000 American women served in uniform, both at home and abroad, volunteering for the newly formed Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAACs, later renamed the Women’s Army Corps), the Navy Women’s Reserve (WAVES), the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve, the Coast Guard Women’s Reserve (SPARS), the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPS), the Army Nurses Corps, and the Navy Nurse Corps. General Eisenhower felt that he could not win the war without the aid of the women in uniform.

NEVER AGAIN COLLECTION
During the Holocaust, Nazi forces used symbolic cloth badges to dehumanize and control prisoners in concentration camps. The most well-known of these badges is the yellow Star of David that marked Jews as outsiders, while other badges categorized different groups like political prisoners, those with disabilities, and homosexual men. Order Minimums There is no order minimum to place a wholesale order. Item minimums vary by product, though many items are sold in case packs of 6 or 12. If listed minimum quantities do not meet your needs, please call 504-528-1944 ext 365 and allow us the opportunity to personally assist you.
Order Terms (Net 30 or Credit Card) Wholesale clients may choose Net 30 or Credit Card terms. A Net 30 application must be approved prior to billing on those terms. Application available through the QR code at the bottom of this page.
