EFD Glossary Validation = To record that the system is fit for purpose for the ATC tasks that need to be performed. Train the Trainers = All of the EFD Prestwick Training Team (EPTT) have been trained or rostered to be trained to a standard where they can deliver peer group training and assessment. Technical Acceptance = Equipment has passed SAT, is available for engineering training, operational system integration testing and has been adopted by Prestwick Engineering for limited care and maintenance as agreed with the project until Engineering Handover.

Transition Period

Engineering Handover

Operational Conversion Training (OCT) = All staff are rostered to receive training on the new system following a training plan signed off by Operations Director Prestwick and the Safety Regulation Group. Shadowing = Shadowing will allow EFD to replicate the live operation which will provide assurance and confidence that it can be operated safety.

Limited Operational Service = EFD is fully functional within the ops room with connection to all systems allowing a limited operational service to be carried out on defined sectors within pre agreed operational constraints such as a limit on the number of aircraft permitted in the sector. This allows operational staff to use EFD in the live environment in order to provide assurance and confidence that live operation is no different to that seen in the simulator.

Operational Handover = The Operational Acceptance Panel (e.g. Operations Director including Prestwick Leadership Team and Asset Manager) accepts the system as fit to deliver the Engineering Handover = The Engineering Team at intended service, and transfer of EFD to the Prestwick Prestwick accepts responsibility for full maintenance and Operation takes place. The Panel agree that the system and support of the system as if it were fully operational. Also its safety assurance are complete. This includes a sufficient includes a sufficient number of Engineers trained for go-live. number of ATC and Engineers are trained for go-live, a Safety assurance is in place. The system is “ready to go completed transition plan and no Safety Regulatory Group live. objections.
