Bowman Springs Park Improvements
BOWMAN SPRINGS
PARK IMPROVEMENTS
New sidewalks, a drinking fountain, lighting and parking lot upgrades coming soon!
Construction began in January at Bowman Springs Park on a series of improvements. Because of demolition necessaryto begin making these improvements, the public park near Lake Arlington is closed to vehicle traffic. Boaters are encouraged to use Richard Simpson Park, located at 6300 W. Arkansas Ln., until further notice.
The Arlington City Council approved a $500,000 contract Sept. 29, 2020, with AUI Partners of Fort Worth, for the project, which is expected to be complete by May. Improvements will include construction of a new parking lot entry circle, traffic control speed humps, parking lot islands, concrete sidewalks, new drinking fountain, new irrigation, new subgrade drainage lines, and upgraded LED parking lot fixtures.
Bowman Springs Park, originally referred to as "Feather Beach", is a 14-acre park on the southeastern edge of Lake Arlington. The park, located at 7003 Poly Webb Road, also features a fishing pier, a floating dock, an eight-lane boat ramp.
Arlington voters approved the park improvements, which align with the Arlington City Council priority to Champion Great Neighborhoods, during the 2014 bond election.
