The Person-Environment theory emphasizes the importance of harmony between an individual and the environment they are in. The more an environment aligns with the user’s desires and demands the abilities they possess, the more beneficial that space will be.

A bright color palette is integrated into the design of the Thrive Center to unite the space as a shelter and solace for the needy, but also a beacon of hope and source of empowerment.
The design of the space supports individual dignity and empowerment, while also emphasizing the importance of community by incorporating private and community spaces.
The material selections for the center were selected to resist wear and be easily cleanable since the space will be used by a large group of teenagers and by the local homeless community.
