WHERE IS DALIAN ? Dalian is the southernmost city of northeast China and China’s northernmost ( warm water ) seaport . It is the second - largest city of Liaoning Province . With a coastline of 1 ,906 km , it is surrounded by sea in three directions .

With its railroad station , international airport and two major express roads to northern China and to the border , Dalian has become an important distribution center .
