Editor’s note
This is the last edition of Offshore Energy Magazine 2021. It has been a year where the energy transition and sustainable solutions dominated the headlines.
Because te need to change our ways when it comes to living on this planet are clear to everyone. But it is a choice we have to make together and change is never easy. The offshore energy industry needs to make a choice too because our industry is part of the problem, but also part of the solution. As the French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery said, ‘As for the future, your task is not to foresee it, but to enable it’.
When it comes to the energy transition we have already seen that the first mover advantage is there. Renewable energy and sustainable solutions will be important in the future. One way or the other. So let us do, what we do best. Come up with innovations that make an impact. It is not the job of the industry to solve the problem but to present the solutions for the problem.
We look forward to 2022. Things are happening. There is a lot of innovation and collaboration going on. This gives energy!
