SARIFA A company built on innovation Founded in 2014, SARIFA insurance brokers has transformed the brokerage market in Jamaica by changing the way people acquire insurance through an online platform making the process more easily accessible and convenient for customers. Our founder Christopher Blythe saw the need to transmute and resurrect the insurance brokerage market which he believed was myopic. The market became so complacent at a time when technology was evolving at such a rapid pace globally. It was imperative to shake up the industry in Jamaica and continue to innovate. As our name suggests we provide Safe and Reliable Insurance for all (SARIFA), and we are committed to assisting everyone with the insurance best suited for their lifestyle.

WHY SARIFA? Insurance is now made easy For the very first time in Jamaica customers are now able to: 

Complete motor proposal form online

Get instant quotes from all the leading insurance companies…

Pay for their policy all at the click of a button.

Our historic feat aside, SARIFA is doing this for our customers who demand an easier and more convenient way to purchase insurance. Say goodbye to the days of sitting at a broker’s office or agency for hours just to speak with an insurance agent. Even after that first visit customers may have to go back to their broker/agent to get a quote, since they have to manually calculate the rate of each insurance company in the market and sometimes call around so that they can provide the best available quote. This frustrating process can take hours or even days, especially if a same-day cover is needed. In today’s world where technology is more readily accessible and customers are demanding: 

Greater efficiency

Faster turnaround

Better service

SARIFA is now ensuring that the customer’s best interest is well served and we are now providing a process which will meet every need of today’s consumer.

What’s most important? 

Convenience

Saving money

Saving time

Reliability

With our customer friendly website it’s fairly easy to navigate and find the information needed.

Our robust platform also ensures the quotes receive are the most up-to-date and accurate in the industry. Customers can now stay at home and get quotes from all the insurance companies at once, at their own convenience. To make things easier … pay for a policy without ever leaving home. Once a customer’s documents are uploaded an agent will come and visit to ensure that the “know your customer” form is completed, a requisite for all first time customers. After that first year and renewal is required, customers don’t have to see us again, but rather just continue using our platform to manage their policy through their personal account. From one’s personal account one can update personal information even mid-way through the policy. For example: An address might change or a phone number may have been added. Simply log into the account and make the necessary changes to update the information.

Saving Money When customers go directly to an insurance company they are only getting their quote without knowing comparable rates. A broker may say that the quote they are providing is the best but this assertion is usually devoid of proof. At SARIFA, the truth is always in the numbers.

Being able to compare and choosing the right plan Transparency is very important when it comes to insurance, especially when customers are looking to save money. With our online platform users get to compare their policy side by side with all the insurance companies out there. By doing this they are empowered to save and encouraged to be smarter consumers.

Saving Time People today are busier than ever and managing time is very critical for the discerning consumer if they are to be productive. Insurance can be a hassle and when it comes time to purchase a 8

policy the task can be very daunting. No one looks forward to wasting almost a day just to get insured and they shouldn’t. We know how important time is, that’s why with our online platform customers can now get a quote in just minutes. Once all documents are uploaded customers will be able to pay for their policy right away. An electronic cover-note will be emailed to you and the driver will be ready to hit the road. It’s that simple.

Online Claim Management The hassles of filing a claim are now over! If there’s an accident, filing a claim is so much easier through the account online. Once they’re logged into their account, customers can go directly to the ‘file a claim’ section. Download the claim form for the type of insurance needed and then upload all the pertinent documents in that section. As soon as we receive all the documents, we can process the claim with the insurance company to ensure that it is settled expeditiously. Once an update on the claim is recorded, the customer will be notified via email so that he or she can follow the progress, right up to settlement!

Reliability Our reliability is tested when a customer is involved in an accident. No one likes it but it happens. As trusted brokers, we ensure our customers don’t have to deal with the insurance companies. We know how painful this can be, that’s why we handle this process. Once a claim is filed we ensure the claim is settled in the shortest possible time. We go above and beyond so that our reliability and commitment to service remains strong.

TECHNOLOGY ADVANTAGE Technology Leaders We have one of the most robust online platforms in the industry. Being a first mover and innovator in getting a quote and purchasing insurance online, this helps to solidify our commitment to technology. No solution is perfect and that’s why we are always looking for ways to improve and innovate so that we can continue to deliver the very best customer experience unmatched by any in the insurance industry.

Get the most accurate quote With some of the best programmers on our team we ensure that as each company updates their rates, it gets coded into our system immediately. This gives our customers the most accurate and up-to-date quote from each insurance company. We also take into consideration every possible permutation that might alter a quote and provide every probable discount which the customer can benefit from.

Communicate in real time Though we innovate, we also cater to those who do not consider themselves tech savvy. Our customer service is online to help with every step of the process. Communicate with us in realtime during 9am-5pm Mondays to Fridays through our live support feature. Customers who need assistance outside of these hours, may simply leave a message through the live support and an agent will make contact within 24 hours.

Manage your policy With our robust policy management system customers can now monitor their policy online as well as update payment on file so that at all times we have a current credit/debit card to use for the next payment.

File a claim and check the status From the point a claim is filed on the system, we will work closely with the customer and the insurance company to ensure that this process is as smooth as possible. Check the status every step of the way and be in the know. The minute an update on the claim is noted on the system, customers are notified via email and can then check the progress on the spot.

Privacy is our priority Privacy is very important for us and SARIFA uses the world best practices to ensure our customers’ personal data is protected. In securing the data and the system we use secure socket layers (SSL) and data encryption up to 258 bits, which ensures the security of the whole system. Our server is monitored 24/7 and scanned daily for any vulnerabilities or malware attacks. We also provide back-ups to an external server to mitigate against any losses in data.

CUSTOMER PROTECTION At SARIFA we pride ourselves on ensuring the Customer is protected at all times. The Financial Services Commission (FSC) is the regulatory body of the Insurance Industry. In accordance with the FSC, there are certain minimum requirements for all Insurance Brokers in Jamaica which must be fulfilled in order for the Insurance Broker to operate. One such requirement is the minimum capital base of the Company. SARIFA is fully capitalized with JMD$10,000,000 placed safely in Government of Jamaica Securities. Another requirement of the FSC is that each insurance broker is required to maintain a minimum level of insurance coverage with Limits of liability of JA$30,000,000 each for Fidelity Guarantee and Professional Indemnity. What this means, is that if a client’s funds are stolen by employees of the Insurance Broker and/or there are errors and omissions in the insurance advice given to clients then there is adequate insurance coverage in place to protect clients. We at SARIFA leave nothing to chance when it comes to the protection of our clients which is why we have obtained both required insurance policies at limits of liability of USD $500,000 and USD $500,000 respectively which are way above the minimum requirements of the Financial Services Commission.
