Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine THE SCARLET GROUND by Faheem H. Montana, 2103 A.D: The evil Dr. Mr. Evile has built a nefarious machine called the Gene-‐Finderinator! The contraption allows the mad scientist to transform dinosaur bones into living, breathing, T. Rexes and other monstrous beasts. Dr. Mr. Evile and his band of dinos have since ravaged Montana. The Thunderous Three, a team of superheroes, have been dispatched to defeat Evile. The Thunderous Three are led by the heroic Yllib, who has super-‐strength. Next in line is Fillet, who can fly and shoot lasers from his eyes. Last but not least is Mr. Janet, who is armed with a wrist-‐mounted blaster-‐ray and has mind control. Evile Headquarters, Missoula, Montana: “Yes, yes, of course. You can definitely use my dinosaurs in your army once I-‐I mean we-‐take over the United States. See you in an hour.” Dr. Mr. Evile put down his cell phone. “Finally, an ally!” he stated. “General Obb is a great and powerful man. He will serve me well. Cha ha ha haa!” Presidential Palace and Hangar, Obb City, Obbland: “That fool Evile has no idea who he just recruited. As soon as his dinosaurs enter my army, I will rule the world! Mua ha ha ha haa!” General Obb put down his antique rotary dial telephone and smiled. Then, he walked out of his office. “Where’s my jet?” he said to his secretary, Josephina. “Right where it always is. Look in the giant hangar outside your window,” was the sarcastic reply. General Obb then proceeded to leave the capital building and called out his elite guard of seventy-‐five highly trained soldiers. “You will come with me to Montana, where we will destroy the United States with the esteemed scientist Dr. Mr. Evile,” he said. The guards hurried after him. Soon after, Obb reached the hangar. “Look! There she is! The pride of our fleet,” he said, pointing to his converted Boeing 737-‐900. It has a nearly impenetrable armor and can go over 5,000 miles without refueling. Due to its conversion, instead of 177 seats, it can only seat 100. The 77 seats were removed because the space they covered was needed for food and weapons supplies as well as living quarters. The plane’s max speed is 1,500 mph. General Obb sat down in his chair and yelled out, “Hey Frank, get the engines ready, will you?” Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine Frank (the leader of Obb’s elite guard who is the only one out of them who can fly a plane) replied, “Sure thing, boss.” General Obb leaned back in his chair and said, “Get ready for extreme speed!” The airplane lifted off and began its journey towards Montana. Thunderous Three Headquarters, New York, New York:

“BOOP! BOOP! BOOP!” went the siren. “What now?!?” exclaimed Fillet.

“YOU HAVE A MESSAGE. VOICE ACTIVATION REQUIRED,” said the machine. “Yes?” replied Yllib. “MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR OF MONTANA: “Help us, Thunderous Three! Dr. Mr. Evile has taken over Montana and is heading towards Idaho! You must-‐-‐(the video suddenly got cut off),” “SHUTTING DOWN.” The device then shut down, making some mechanical noises and the screen then turned black. “That’s horrible! We need to help them! To the Super Shuttle!” said Yllib. “Mr. Janet, can you get the engine ready?” “Sure,” came the reply. Yllib sprinted to the plane, a custom-‐made Boeing 737-‐900. This plane only has 25 seats. The other 152 seats were converted into storage space for food, weapons, and living quarters. Its max speed is 2,000 mph. Yllib opened up the boarding ramp and entered the plane, followed by Fillet and Mr. Janet. Mr. Janet went to the cockpit and said, “Ready people?” Yllib and Fillet strapped in their seat belts and replied, “Affirmative!” The airplane then lifted up and began its journey towards Montana. Evile Headquarters, Missoula, Montana: Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine The Gene-‐Finderator whirred continuously in its portable containment cell in the back of the main building. “That was the largest T. Rex bone I have ever found! I hope this works!” exclaimed Dr. Mr. Evile. “Kramer, get me the whip, will you?” Kramer-‐-‐Evile’s highest ranking henchman-‐-‐replied, “Yes, sir.” A blinding light came from the machine as its door burst open. “Get ready for some action!” Evile yelled over the din. The 55-‐foot tall door burst open and out came one of the most ferocious animals of all time. The colossal T. Rex stepped out roared as loud as a jumbo jet. “SNAP! SNAP!” went the whip as Evile started trying to tame the beast. “My Whip-‐o-‐Matic 5000 will tame any beast in one minute or less!” he boasted. “SNAP!” The whip’s end landed right on the nose of the beast. The T. Rex cowered back in fear and started whimpering. “Cha! You will now become my slave! You shall also now be called Jim!” stated Evile. “Kramer, keep an eye on Jim, will you?” commanded Evile as he walked towards a nearby tool shed. “Ah ha! There you are!” exclaimed Evile as he found a bulky saddle. He lugged the saddle towards Jim and instructed, “Lean down so I can put this saddle on you.” Jim did as he was told and soon Evile was riding Jim towards his HQ with Kramer barely hanging on to Jim’s tail. “Open,” Evile said to a large voice-‐activated door. “VOICE ACTIVATION ACCEPTED,” it replied and it started to open. Jim came in and stopped running. “Stay here until I get back,” Evile ordered. Evile then told Kramer, “Go to a desk and go do some paperwork or something until I need you. Understand?” Kramer nodded and sprinted towards the nearest desk. “RING RING! RING RING!” went a nearby phone. “I’ll get it!” shouted Evile to nobody in particular. “Hello?” “Hi, this is General Obb. Where am I supposed to land my plane?” Evile smiled and said, “So you made it! Welcome!” “WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO LAND MY PLANE?!?”

“Oh yes, sorry, umm, you can land it in our landing strip.”

“And where is that?” “Uhh, where are you right now though?” “I’m above the ‘Evile Lab Building #3’ and there’s some kind of dinosaur containment pen there.” “Okay. Turn right for about 0.3 miles and you’ll see a landing strip.” “Oh okay. I see it now. One second. Me and my crew must land.” “Okay!” Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine “We’re at the landing strip. What do we do now?” asked Obb, a few minutes later. “Directly across from the top of the landing strip is a building. Enter the building and I’ll greet you there.” “Okay, thanks.” “No problem.” Evile hung up. He walked towards the door and said, “Open.” The door replied, “VOICE ACTIVATION ACCEPTED.” The door then opened and General Obb walked in. “So! We finally meet person to person, eh?” he said. Evile nodded his head in agreement. “Come on, General, let me take you to my spacious sitting room.” Then he added, “Kramer, bring us some coffee, tea, and some snacks!” “Yes, sir,” came the reply. Obb’s elite guard started to follow the General, but Obb motioned for them to stay. Evile and Obb headed toward the sitting room, a few doors down the hall. They entered the room and sat down in luxurious brown leather chairs. “So, how are you?” Evile said as he started off the conversation. “Fine, thanks. My army is making many technological advances. When can the dinosaurs join my army?” “Soon, soon. First we need to get you a dinosaur, though,” Evile replied. Kramer walked in and set down a tray of coffee, tea, and cookies. “Thank you, Kramer,” Evile said. Kramer then left the room. General Obb took a look at the tray of sweets, frowned, and said disapprovingly, “We have no time for this. We must go to make our dinosaur army!” Evile quickly chewed and swallowed the three cookies he had in his mouth and took a gulp of coffee. “Of course, General. Let’s go.” On the way out, Evile grabbed several more cookies and stuffed them in his mouth. “So where is the machine?” Obb inquired. “Oud ib thb bab,” came the garbled reply. “I said, where is the machine?!?” Obb said once more, this time a little angry. Evile swallowed his food and said, “Follow me.” Evile and Obb headed down the hall. “Open,” Evile said to the door. Evile cut off the door before it could say anything. “Yah yah, just open up already!” he said, annoyed. The doors opened smoothly and Evile and Obb headed outside. “Kramer! Come here!” Evile demanded. Kramer rushed to Evile and followed him out. Evile walked towards the tool shed and came out with a medium-‐sized saddle and a Herrerasaurus dinosaur bone-‐-‐which is a carnivorous dinosaur slightly smaller Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine than an adult human. Evile then turned on the Gene-‐Finderinator with a key he took out from his pocket and placed the dinosaur bones inside the mechanism. He then pressed a few buttons and stepped back. “Get ready for some action!” he shouted. The device whirred and a brilliant flash of light suddenly emanated from it. The door ripped open and a dinosaur stepped out. It sniffed the air and eyed its surroundings. Then it saw Evile, who had a whip. “SNAP! SNAP!” Evile started to whip the dinosaur into submission. The terrified dinosaur shrank back in fear. “Cha! You are now under my control! You will become the pet of General Obb (Evile pointed to show who Obb was) and you will obey his every command! General, what would you like to name it?” Obb replied, “Obb, Jr., of course.” “You will now be known as Obb, Jr!” Evile said to the dinosaur. Evile put a leash on Obb, Jr. and handed the leash to Obb. “Here you go. We’ll head towards the garage so he can stay there,” Evile said. Evile, Kramer, and Obb walked towards the garage. Evile gave his voice activation and the large door opened. Obb, Jr. was released into a pen in the garage and Evile and the others walked away towards the main building. “We must go to the War Room and discuss what to do next,” suggested Evile. “How about we go take over Idaho?” Obb responded. “Sounds good to me,” Evile replied. “Let’s go get our armies,” he added. Evile dismissed Kramer as he and Obb headed inside. Obb motioned to his guards and they came running towards him. “All security officers report to Lab Building #1. I repeat, all security officers report to Lab Building #1.” Evile said into a microphone. The sound of Jeeps was heard as hundreds of men sprinted in the direction of Lab Building #1. All five hundred security officers arrived a few minutes later. “What’s your strength, General?” inquired Evile. “Seventy-‐five highly trained soldiers,” Obb answered. “Mine’s five hundred. Do you think five hundred seventy-‐five men are enough to take Idaho, General?” “We’ll see.” Evile summoned Kramer once again and the entire group headed towards a form of transportation. “I’m afraid you’re going to have to leave you plane here, General,” Evile said. “No matter, once we destroy the U.S. we can just come back to get it.” “Okay then. All right then men, move out! Five people per Jeep! Don’t forget to man the transports!” Evile commanded. “What about the Gene-‐Finderinator?” Kramer asked. “Don’t worry, I put it in one of the luggage transports,” Evile replied, pointing to one of the huge 60-‐foot long semi trucks. Everyone then headed towards the car garage and 114 Jeeps and a few luggage semis were taken out (113 Jeeps for the army, 1 Jeep for Evile, Kramer, Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine and Obb, and two transports, each manned by five people. The transports also contained numerous small carnivorous dinosaurs, Jim, and Obb, Jr.). The Jeeps started and started zooming across the horizon, with Evile’s Jeep in the lead. Thunderous Three Super Shuttle: “Alright people, strap your seat belts on! Get prepared to land!” came Mr. Janet’s voice over the plane’s intercom. “Where’s the landing strip, though?” yelled Fillet. “Don’t worry, I see it!” Mr. Janet replied. The plane started descending and the surrounding terrain flashed by through the plane’s windows. “BUMP!” the plane landed and its occupants were jostled slightly. The plane gradually came to a stop and Mr. Janet’s voice rang out over the intercom, “Its safe to unfasten your seat belts now, gentlemen. I have lowered the boarding ramp. Be prepared to leave.” Yllib and Fillet hurried out of their seats, through the door, and down the boarding ramp, followed by Mr. Janet. “So, what do we do first?” Fillet asked. “Head towards that building!” Yllib replied. Yllib and the others reached the door. “Mr. Janet, if you could?” Yllib said. “Why, of course!” Mr. Janet enthusiastically answered. Mr. Janet aimed his blaster-‐ray at the door and fired. “WHAPOOSH!” went the door as it exploded into thousands of millions of glass fragments. “Come on, move it, move it!” Yllib instructed. The Thunderous Three entered and found no one. “Where’d everybody go?” Fillet said, thoroughly confused. Yllib entered the sitting room and found some tea, coffee, and cookies. “Looks like there were people around not too long ago,” he said. “Hey, what’s that?!?” Yllib exclaimed, pointing towards the garage. “Hey people, lets head over there!” he said, and everyone scurried over to the garage. Yllib examined the tire tracks from the Jeeps taken by Evile and his allies and stated, “They went this way! Towards Idaho!” Yllib, Mr. Janet, and Fillet got into one of the three hundred eighty-‐six Jeeps and drove off, following the tire tracks. Idaho Falls, Idaho: “Release the dinosaurs!” Evile shouted, smiling maniacally. Dozens of human-‐sized carnivorous dinosaurs were released and the immediately attacked innocent Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine civilians. Obb, Jr. spotted General Obb and ran towards him. Jim, however, was in the other transport and had yet to be released. “There you are, my pet,” Obb said upon seeing Obb, Jr. “Let’s go begin mayhem!” He jumped onto the saddle on Obb, Jr.’s back and rode into the crowd of the terrified bystanders. Then he yelled, “Guards! Help me terrify these people!” Obb’s elite squadron of guards ran out of their cars and started to assault the civilians. After that, Evile walked towards the semi truck carrying Jim and talked to the five security officers inside. “Time to let Jim out!” he gleefully instructed. “Yes, sir!” the officers responded. The side of the semi opened up and Jim was exposed. He spotted Evile only a few feet away and leaned down towards him. Evile hopped up onto Jim and declared, “Time to pound this city into the dust!” He and Jim then proceeded to destroy several buildings. Meanwhile, Obb, Obb, Jr., and the other dinosaurs were causing anarchy. Some dinosaurs had even eaten some of the civilians! Then Evile commanded, “Security officers! I give you the go ahead to loot and destroy as you deem fit!” The security officers jumped out of their cars and headed to loot banks, stores, and other businesses. After a few hours after destroying most of the town, Evile announced, “Time to move on, people!” Then Evile’s army started rounding up the dinosaurs and packed up their loot. “What are the losses, Kramer?” Evile asked. “They aren’t many, sir. A dinosaur was killed when he ran off the roof of a building he had somehow gotten onto and two of the security officers suffered broken bones when one of the civilians pulled out a baseball bat.” “What happened to the civilian?” “Some other security officers saw their colleagues getting beaten up, so they knocked out the civilian and threw him in a dumpster, sir.” “Okay then. Let’s go.” As Evile left Idaho Falls, he commented to himself, “We can really cause destruction. Maybe we can take over the U.S.” Idaho Falls, Idaho (five minutes later): “SCREECH!” The Jeep the Thunderous Three were riding in halted. Yllib, Mr. Janet, and Fillet got out and examined the area. “We’re late again!” exclaimed Fillet, exasperated. Mr. Janet spotted the dinosaur that had fallen from the roof.

Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine “Oh my goodness! What happened to that thing?!?” Everyone headed over to examine the beast. It was green, had scales, sharp claws, a long tail, and was about as tall as Yllib, who, at six feet tall, was the tallest of the Thunderous Three. Fillet poked the dino with a nearby stick. “It’s dead, alright,” he stated. Then, Yllib looked around for the first time and noticed the extensive carnage. Most buildings had either crumbled or were on fire. People were running around, screaming. The hospital, fortunately, was one of the only buildings left standing. It was overflowing with victims. The town hall was burning apart. There were also many civilians lying on the ground, either dead or unconscious. There was also a pair of legs sticking out from inside a dumpster, Yllib noted peculiarly. Lamps were broken and the road was cracked in several places. At some of the gas stations, the gasoline had ignited and had started huge fires. Desperate citizens tried to stop the fires with buckets of water, but to no avail. Overall, the place was a mess. Yllib looked over the place sadly. “There’s nothing we can do here. Come on, lets follow these tracks,” he said. The rest of the group complied and they climbed into their Jeep. Boise, Idaho: “There it is. The largest city in Idaho. And it’s all ours!” Evile exclaimed. Evile looked at Obb and said, “Come on. Let’s get Jim and Obb, Jr.” They walked over to the transport containing Obb, Jr. and said to the drivers, “Open it up! We need Obb, Jr.” “Yes, of course, sir,” the drivers replied. The side of the semi opened and out came Obb, Jr. The beast sprinted towards Obb and stopped obediently. The General hopped onto his pet and shouted to his army, “Come on out, everyone! Time for some more looting!” There was a huge commotion as the seventy-‐five soldiers darted out of their cars and headed towards the city. “WHOOO!” yelled Obb excitedly as he rode along with his men. Then Evile instructed the drivers, “Now its time to release the other dinosaurs.” The dinosaur container pens split open and out came dozens of predators. They ran towards the already-‐terrified city. Evile then said to the drivers, “Your turn to join the fight!” The drivers jumped out of the transports and scampered happily towards Boise. Evile walked towards the other transport and commanded its drivers, “I need Jim.” They loyally nodded their heads and complied. The enormous door burst open and Jim came out, roaring. He noticed Evile and bent over to let him mount his saddle. As Evile got on his saddle. He shouted, “CHAAARGE!” His four hundred ninety-‐eight remaining security officers sprinted out towards the city as he himself came along with them. “We’ll dismantle this place brick by brick!” he whispered to himself. As Evile rode into the city, he could already see the destruction. The security officers and Obb’s guards were assaulting the populations while Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine the dinosaurs were basically eating everything they saw, from rabbits to civilians. Evile smiled to himself and instructed Jim, “Step on everything you see!” Soon, all buildings in downtown were either in flames or in a heap of concrete. All the banks, stores, and other businesses had been robbed of their content. “Let’s move on to uptown!” Evile said contentedly. As Evile moved on to uptown Boise, the Thunderous Three were not far behind. Downtown Boise, Idaho: “I think we’ve finally caught them!” exclaimed Mr. Janet, upon seeing three of Evile’s security officers looting a grocery store. Yllib stopped the car and everyone jumped out. “Stop right where you are! You people are under arrest!” he declared to the security officers. The officers just looked at him and continued their looting. “Okay then, Mr. Janet?” Yllib said. “Ready, aim, fire!” Mr. Janet responded. He shot each of the three security officers down in rapid succession. “Thank you, thank you!” cried out the flustered store manager. “Just doing my job,” Mr. Janet answered. Suddenly Mr. Janet spotted a dozen more of Evile’s security officers heading towards a bank. Yllib saw them also and said, “You see those officers?” “Yep. I’m just about ready to get them.” Mr. Janet fired at the foundations of a nearby burnt-‐ out building. The building creaked and started to fall. The officers noticed it and tried to run, but it was too late. The massive building fell over, crushing all of the officers. “Good job, Mr. Janet!” congratulated Fillet. “Come on! We need to head to uptown to help the rest of the town!” said Yllib. The group ran towards the Jeep, jumped in, and began the drive towards uptown Boise. Uptown Boise, Idaho: “There is a lot more resistance here as I had hoped,” Evile said dejectedly. He watched as a dozen police officers started shooting at his security officers. He saw at lease ten go down. Angrily, he screamed at the security officers, “GET THOSE POLICE MEN!” A hundred of his security forces rushed towards the police officers. The heavily outnumbered police officers went down, but not without a fight. They managed to shoot down another twenty of his men before they could be stopped. Another fifty or so police officers abruptly showed up at the street corner. Evile and his men were taken by surprise. Obb, Jr. managed to trample a few police officers but had to escape because the police officers were about to Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine shoot it down. Evile took out his megaphone and yelled into it, “All security officers report to me! I repeat, all security officers report to me!” This time, two hundred officers came, swelling the total force to over two hundred fifty. A vicious battle then ensued. Several police vehicles served as protection as police fired from behind them. Unfortunately for the security officers they had no protection. The only thing they could do was hide on top of roofs, behind benches, or behind trees. “PEW PEW PEW!” went the weapons. Dozens of security officers fell, and still, no one had the advantage. Evile was getting tired of this, so he commanded, “Security officers! Charge the police officers! NOW!” Masses of security forces headed towards the police. Many fell, but more kept coming. The security officers soon overran the police, though. Evile, being happy at achieving victory, ordered to burn the entire uptown down. Before long, the entire uptown was in flames. Then the Thunderous Three arrived. Uptown Boise, Idaho:

“What in the world is that thing!” exclaimed Fillet upon seeing Jim.

“I-‐I-‐I th-‐think th-‐that’s a T. Rex!” answered Mr. Janet, paralyzed with fear. Yllib gazed at a rickety building across the street, near which was a large drum of gasoline and at least hundred security officers were grouped. Yllib nudged Mr. Janet. “See that gas drum over there? Could you fire at it?” he asked. Mr. Janet grunted affirmatively and aimed at the gas drum. “Ready? Fire!” “BOOM! WHOOSH!” went the gas can as it exploded and lit on fire. Several of the security forces were killed immediately. The building, which’s foundation had been partly destroyed by the explosion, fell down. The startled security men barely had time to react as the massive heap of metal crashed down on top of them. Evile looked at the remains of the building, surprised, and looked back. “Oh no! The Thunderous Three!” he said, astonished. “Attack them!” he commanded the hundred or so remaining security forces near him. Fillet flew up high and started shooting then down with his laser eyes. Yllib picked up debris and lobbed it at the security men. Mr. Janet mowed them down with the Blaster-‐Ray. Mr. Evile remarked to himself, “If I go closer to that Fillet fellow, Jim could eat him!” He smiled and instructed Jim to go closer to Fillet. Fillet noticed Jim and started firing lasers at him. The lasers had little to no effect on him. Jim roared at Fillet and Fillet, frightened, tried to get away, but he couldn’t. Jim stepped forward, opened his mouth, snatched Fillet from the air, and gulped him down. Then, Jim bellowed in satisfaction. “FILLET!” Yllib and Mr. Janet shouted together. In his anger, Yllib picked up one of the police cars and flung it at some of the dinosaurs. The car crushed half a dozen dinosaurs. Then, Mr. Janet shot the top of a building and it landed on fifteen security officers. Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine Evile, alarmed, said, “RETREAT! RETREAT!” Even the officers that hadn’t been in the first battle were seen sprinting after Evile. As soon as Yllib and Mr. Janet saw Evile and his allies disappear from the horizon, they flopped down on the ground and fell asleep. Outskirts of Boise, Idaho: Panting, Evile got down from Jim. He quickly summoned Kramer. “What are the losses?” “Many. We lost two hundred seventy security officers. That leaves us with only two hundred twenty-‐eight. We also lost about ten dinosaurs. Half were killed when Yllib tossed a police car on them, and the others were killed by the police, sir.” “How many dinos do we have left?” “About fifty, sir.” “What about Obb’s forces?” “Oh, he didn’t lose any, sir. He made sure his guards stayed out of the fight.” “Hmm. Do you think we’ve done a good job?” “That’s hard to tell sir, but we have done a lot of damage.” “Let’s move on then. I do have a town in mind, though. It’s a small town on the Idaho-‐ Washington border. Its name is Post Falls.” Uptown Boise, Idaho:

“We must go on,” Yllib said.

“No! I’m tired of this! What about Fillet?!?” Mr. Janet said angrily. “I’m sorry. The show must go on. Please.” Mr. Janet stood up and said, “Fine. Let’s go get Evile.” The not-‐so-‐Thunderous Three jumped into their Jeep and drove, following Jim’s footprints. “Can we be called the Terrific Two now?” Mr. Janet requested. “Sure,” Yllib answered.” Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine Night on a farm near Post Falls, Idaho: “Kramer! Gather up a dozen men and go attack that farm there. This is where I want to stay the night,” Evile said. “Yes, sir,” replied Kramer. Kramer assembled a dozen men and headed towards the farm. “General Obb!” Evile yelled. Obb came out of the gloom and responded, “What would you like, Dr. Mr. Evile?” “How did you think the battle went earlier, General?” “It went pretty well, I suppose.” “I hear you didn’t lose any men.” “My men weren’t required, Dr. Mr.” “Right. Do you know how many men I lost?” “No. How many?” “Two hundred seventy officers and ten dinosaurs. And all you were doing was looting Laundromats!” “I apologize, Dr. Mr.” “Hmph.” Kramer unexpectedly showed up and said, “We have secured the farm, sir.” “Good. Now let’s move out!” As Evile and everyone else was walking towards the farm, he asked, “How was the scuffle?” “I wouldn’t call it a scuffle, sir. We lost two men.” “WHAT?!?” Kramer recoiled, uncomfortable. “The farmer had a pitchfork and a son. He used the pitchfork on Bobby and the son broke Joe’s neck, sir.” “What did you do to the farmer and his son?” “We threw them in the well, sir.” “Hmm. At least now we can rest though.” That same farm, at dawn, a few hours later: Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine “I can see them!” cried out Mr. Janet. “Over there!” Yllib drove towards where Mr. Janet was pointing and stopped the engine. The now-‐Terrific Two sprang out of the Jeep and headed towards the farm. That same farm: “Yaaawn!” Evile stretched and got out of the farmhouse’s spacious bed. “Kramer, Obb, time to wake up!” Kramer and Obb got up and out of bed. “Let’s go rouse the army,” stated Evile. Evile went outside, followed by Obb and Kramer. They then continued to wake up all three hundred one remaining security forces and guards. “To Post Falls!” Obb shouted. Everyone readied their Jeeps but then they noticed Yllib and Mr. Janet. “Going somewhere?” they said together. Mr. Janet shot a huge nearby oak at its base and the tree started falling. “RUN!” yelled Evile. Two dozen security forces were too late. “BOOSH!” went the tree as it collapsed onto the ground. Evile, Kramer, and Obb leaped into their Jeep but Mr. Janet shot one of the tires. “VROOM! VROOM!” The vehicle wouldn’t move. Everyone sprinted out of the Jeep just as Mr. Janet shot the engine. “KABOOM!” The gas ignited and the nearby ground burst into flame. Near the explosion, about fifty security forces had had enough. They threw down their hats and ran away. “TRAITORS!” Evile shouted after them. After seeing some of their coworkers desert, fifteen of Obb’s guards escaped, too. “HEY! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU’RE GOING?” screamed Obb. Mr. Janet then used his power-‐mind-‐control. He ‘convinced’ another hundred troops to leave. Yllib whispered into a walkie-‐talkie he took out from his pocket, “It’s safe to come down now. I repeat, it’s safe to come down now.” Suddenly, five military helicopters appeared. Fifty soldiers came down and started to assault Evile’s forces. “UGH! WHERE DID THEY COME FROM?!?” Evile exclaimed, pointing to the soldiers cutting through his security forces. Then he saw every one of his dinosaurs get exterminated by the soldiers. “HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?” he yelled. Yllib was looking for something to throw when he came across a huge potato. He smiled to himself, picked it up, and chucked it across the field. General Obb was mounting Obb, Jr. when he saw the potato the size of him coming towards him. “Uh-‐oh,” was all he had time to say before the potato squashed him and Obb, Jr. Evile noticed Obb’s fall and remarked to himself, “At least that’s taken care of.” Obb’s guards had noticed his demise, also. Just about all of them ran away. The ones that didn’t were shot down by the soldiers. Evile summoned Kramer and said, “How many left?” Mrs. Schick’s Classes, May 2011

Zombies and Monster Stories Magazine “About a hundred, sir.” “I think I should be using Jim more often.” Evile sped off before Kramer could reply. “Jim! Attack those helicopters!” Evile demanded. Jim somehow was able to knock down and destroy all five helicopters. Evile then pulled out his Vaporizinator-‐5000. “This thing is very powerful. I can’t believe I haven’t used it yet!” he whispered to himself. The falling debris from the helicopters actually proved to be a bad thing for Evile, though. The flaming metal fell to the ground and produced large explosion that wiped out dozens of Evile’s men. The ground turned scarlet with flame. Soon, the security forces barely outnumbered the soldiers. Then came the turning point in the battle. Mr. Janet used his mind-‐control ability to “convince” Jim to eat Evile. Evile was unaware of that fact. He was sitting in his saddle when all of a sudden, Jim shook violently, tossing Evile off. In, the process, the Vaporizinator-‐5000 was knocked from Evile’s hands and crushed beneath Jim’s feet. He was about to strongly reprimand Jim when he realized Jim was about to eat him. “AAAHH!
