Who We Are OUR HISTORY
New Brunswick Bible Institute was founded in the fall of 1944. Rev. John Parschauer and a group of Christian men saw the need for a Biblecentered school where young men and women might receive a sound training in the Word of God and be sent out to evangelize. Mr. Clayton B. Clark was appointed chairman of the Board of Directors and the school opened in a farm house in Rosedale, New Brunswick, not far from Hartland. While enrollment that first year was small, only 10 students, the blessing of the Lord was evident. Shortly after, new property in the village of Victoria Corner was acquired and the school began to grow. A well-qualified, spiritually-minded faculty and staff have given devoted service to the preparation and training of thousands of young people now successfully serving Jesus Christ in pastoral, evangelistic and missionary work around the world.
OUR PURPOSE & PHILOSOPHY New Brunswick Bible Institute is committed to Jesus Christ and His plan of building His church on earth through the directives of the Great Commission - evangelism and discipleship. This school was founded with the sole purpose of being a Bible training institution to help disciple and prepare men and women to serve Jesus Christ at home and abroad. Our purpose of existence is fulfilled by three basic objectives: Biblical and theological training; spiritual life and character development; and ministry training and Christian service activities. The philosophy that permeates our purpose, objectives and daily campus life is that: 1. The Word of God must be first and foremost in the life and ministry of all believers in order for us to be spiritually effective (II Timothy 3:16-17). 2. We must be disciplined men and women of God in order for God to be glorified by holy living and righteous works. Self discipline is valuable, required discipline is necessary but spiritual discipline is by far the most valuable achievement to seek after (Galatians 5:22-23; I Timothy 4:7-8). 3. Our lives must be devoted to God’s work on earth as labourers together with Christ. God’s work is all about people. We must learn to be skillful in the use of our gifts and talents in order to reach people for Christ and encourage them to join the ranks of fellow servants in ministry (II Timothy 2:15). New Brunswick Bible Institute seeks to partner with and support local churches, Christian families and all believers in order to fulfill God’s plan, God’s commission and God’s will for His people on earth.
3
OUR FAITH & PRACTICE New Brunswick Bible Institute is a nondenominational, fundamental, missionary, independent school. In stating this, we do not want to convey a proud and haughty, separatist spirit, but we do want to honestly set forth our position so that you will not be under any false assumptions concerning our doctrinal policies and practices. By Fundamental we mean that we adhere to the following doctrinal statement with which every staff member is in agreement. By Non-denominational we mean that we are not aligned with any denomination, but receive students on the basis of their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and their compliance with our requirements for entrance.
By Missionary we mean that we believe that it is the task of the Church to become involved, on an individual basis and through joint effort with those of similar goals and objectives, in the ministry of World Evangelism. By World Evangelism we refer to the reaching of lost souls with the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ as defined in I Corinthians 15. Our students are exposed to Faith Missions in chapels, classes and conferences. By Independent we mean that we are governed by a self-perpetuating Board of Directors. We are not affiliated with any other organization in any official capacity. Thus the school is not influenced or controlled by an outside body. We are, however, incorporated according to the laws of the Province of
New Brunswick as a “School for Training young men and women to do the work of the ministry.” An audited financial report is published each year and available to the public upon request. New Brunswick Bible Institute does not co-operate in any manner whatsoever with ecumenical groups, including the World Council of Churches and its agencies, and/or any evangelical efforts sponsored by those who do not hold to the fundamental doctrines of the Christian Faith. It is the purpose of the New Brunswick Bible Institute to remain true to God’s Word in precept and practice in all phases and areas of our work.
What We Believe DOCTRINAL STATEMENT 1. the verbal inspiration of the old and new testaments.
By this is meant God’s superintendence of the human authors so that, using their own individual personalities, they composed and recorded, without error, God’s revelation to man in the words of the original autographs. (2 Pet. 1:21; 2 Tim. 3:16).
2. the trinity of the godhead.
There is one living and true God existing eternally in the three equal Persons: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. (Gen. 1:26; Matt. 28:19) (Compare Rom. 1:7; Heb. 1:8; Acts 5:3,4).
3. the deity of jesus christ.
From all eternity Jesus Christ was God the Son. He came into humanity by the virgin birth and today is the God-man in the Glory. (John 1:1; Heb. 1:8; John 20:28).
4. the personality and deity of the holy spirit. The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity by whom believers are called, regenerated, baptized into Christ, indwelt, sealed, guided, taught, witnessed to, sanctified, aided and filled for service. (John 14:16-18; Rom. 8:9-27; I Cor. 6:19-20; Eph. 1:13-14;5:18).
5. man is totally depraved and spiritually lost.
He is by practice and by nature a sinner in need of regeneration by the Holy Spirit of God. (Eph. 2:1-3).
6. there is only one plan of salvation.
It is through faith in the finished work of Christ. (John 3:5; 14:6; 20:30,31). This salvation has been purchased solely through the blood of Christ. (1 Pet. 1:18,19; Eph. 1:7; Rev. 1:5; Heb. 9:22).
7. christ rose bodily from the grave.
He ascended to Heaven to carry on a ministry of intercession for the saints. (John 2:19-22; Luke 24:36-43: Heb. 7:25).
8. the imminent and pre-millennial return of jesus christ.
At this time the living saints will be translated and the dead in Christ will be raised. The church, which is the body of Christ, will be raptured before the period of the Great Tribulation. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 4:14-18; 1 Cor. 15:50-52; 1 Thess. 5:9).
9. the bodily resurrection of all men.
The saved will be raised to everlasting joy and bliss, the lost to everlasting damnation in hell. (Job 19:25-27; Rev. 20:4-6, 13; 2 Thess. 1:9; Matt. 25:41, 46).
10. satan
He was once one of God’s created cherubim, fell through pride and since then has been in constant warfare with God. He is prince of the present world system and will ultimately be confined to torments in the lake of fire. (Ezek. 28:12-19; Luke 10:18; Rev. 20:10; Is. 14:12-14).
11. all who, by faith, receive jesus christ are born again.
They are born again of the Holy Spirit, therefore are children of God and eternally saved. The Holy Spirit dwells within every believer to enlighten them in life, testimony and service. (John 3:5; 1 Cor. 2:9-14).
12. god gives spiritual gifts to all believers.
This is for the building up of the body of Christ. (1 Cor. 12).
13. “tongues and healing” were authenticating signs.
These were given to confirm the teaching of the apostles. Thus they were foundational gifts and are not needed today because we have the complete revelation of God in the Scriptures. Therefore, we cannot commend or support the modern-day charismatic movement. (Eph. 2:20; 2 Cor 12:12, Heb. 2:4; Acts 2:43).
14. divorced men or men married to divorcees, should not assume the position of pastor or deacon
While they ought not to be excluded from membership, they should not assume the position of pastor or deacon in a local church. Because we are training Christian leaders, we do not accept divorcees or those married to divorcees in our day school program. (1 Tim. 3:2).

Graduates of this program can transfer directly into the second year of the three-year program.
Biblical and Theological Studies (108 Credit Hours-Diploma)
The purpose of this three-year program is to equip the student for pastoral, evangelistic or missionary service. It involves the student in a wide range of practical ministry for a prolonged period of time. The student will work under a carefully selected mentor in a church or other ministry setting. It is intended that the student and mentor will form a ministry team working together for the glory of God and their mutual benefit. The student will benefit from the example and wisdom of the mentor’s years of godly service. In addition the student will complete 32 hours of academic study to balance the practical ministry. OPPORTUNITIES FOR PRACTICAL TRAINING AND SERVICE Practical Christian Service Practical training is a vital part of our students’ education. Students participates in our Practical Christian Service program and are assigned to ministry teams where they have weekly opportunities to work with local churches or organizations. Our students gain real ministry experience, better equipping them for future service. PCS opportunities include ministries with children and youth. Some have opportunities to visit senior citizens’ homes or hold services at a local Jail. Others serve on one of our music or drama teams. Conferences, Retreats and Chapels Services here on campus allow our students to discover and excercise their spiritual gifts and natural abilities by preaching, teaching, singing and testifying. They may also assist on the worship team or play an instrument during these services. Student play a huge role in our children’s, youth, ladies’ and men’s retreats. Summer Ministries Students are required to serve in a local church, Christian camp or other Christian organization during the summer months between their years of study here at NBBI. Students return with testimonies and stories of how God worked in and through them as they participated in some type of service for Him.
