Greetings! On behalf of the Mid-‐Atlantic Region of the Black Law Students Association (MABLSA), I cordially invite you to participate in the 2012 Annual MABLSA Job Fair & Leadership Weekend. This year’s weekend of events will take place Friday, August 17, 2012, through Sunday, August 19, 2012, at the Doubletree Hotel in Bethesda, Maryland. This year’s theme is “Excellence in Action: Building Future Leaders.” The weekend kicks off on Friday, August 17, 2012, with an opportunity to mingle with other law students and practitioners at the Extend Your Network Reception. Interviews will take place on Saturday, August 18, 2012. In addition to interviews, the day’s events include an expo aimed at helping attendees stand out in their interviews and perfect their professional image. There will be a midday break in interviews for lunch that will feature a lively attorney panel discussion. The day will conclude with an evening social that will serve as the official Leadership Retreat Kick-‐Off. The weekend will wrap up with the MABLSA Leadership Retreat on Sunday, August 19, 2012 where chapter leaders will have the opportunity to meet the 2012-‐2013 MABLSA Regional Executive Board, learn about the Regional Executive Board’s vision for the year, and discuss the role chapters play in our pursuit of Excellence in Action. Members are also allowed to bid on as many employers as they wish.
MABLSA Attorney Panel MABLSA will present top attorneys from the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area to give advice on transitioning from student to professional, personal branding, acquiring your top job, and making an impression in the legal field.
