2014 MABLSA Alumni Hall of Fame About The National Black Law Students Association is committed to highlighting the achievements of minority attorneys who have paved the way by continuing a legacy of excellence, empowerment, and achievement. The MidAtlantic Black Law Students

Association (“MABLSA�) Alumni Hall of Fame was created to honor MABLSA alumni that have demonstrated dedication to MABLSA as law students and continue to further the interests of MABLSA as alumni. The MABLSA Hall of Fame honors attorneys that

demonstrate admirable leadership and contribute significantly to the legal profession. Each year, the award is given to two to three attorneys whose integrity, legal skills and

devotion to service have been an inspiration to his/her colleagues as well as MABLSA members.

The Process (1) The Nomination An alumnus/a must be a former member of one of the 26 chapters that comprise the MidAtlantic region. All alumni must be nominated by a current or past member of MABLSA. The attached Nomination Form must be completely filled out by the nominating individual and submitted via email with a brief statement of 250 words or less indicating why the nominee is most deserving to be inducted in the MABLSA Alumni Hall of Fame to:

Cameron Williams at mablsa.vicechair@nblsa. org by January 5, 2014. Late nomination forms will not be accepted. Individuals may nominate multiple alumni. Nominating individuals may be contacted by a member of the Regional Executive Board for more information about an alumnus/a if needed. (2) The Evaluation All nominees will be evaluated by three members of the MABLSA Regional Executive Board. Every nominee will be evaluated according to the attached rubric. The alumni with the three highest scores will be invited to be guests of honor at the MABLSA Hall of Fame Induction Luncheon taking place during the Regional Convention on Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Portsmouth, VA.

Years as a financial member of BLSA Active Participation in BLSA Chapter activities Member of BLSA Chapter Executive Board Service to the Mid-Atlantic Region of NBLSA Service to the National Black Law Students Association

15 Points: General Community Impact • Amount of time dedicated to serving community • Member of an organization positively impacting the community • Leading initiatives to encourage growth in the community

15 Points: Continued Dedication to MABLSA • Displayed dedication to one or more of MABLSA’s initiatives • Assistance to members of the organization • Assistance with regional initiatives or programming
