This panel of federal and state judges will demystify the judicial clerkship experience, examine the benefits of clerking and highlight what law students should do to successfully pursue a clerkship. PROFESSIONALS. | Legacy of MABLSA Hall of Fame Luncheon: ‘The Fierce Urgency of Now’ When Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke at the March on Washington, he described the “fierce urgency of now” to remind a divided nation that we needed one another because we are stronger when we march forward, together. This panel will examine the new civil rights movement and the urgent need for solidarity behind it to continue to fight for racial equality and economic justice. As well, MABLSA alumni that demonstrated dedication to the organization as law students and continue to further the interests of the organization as alumni will be inducted into the MABLSA Hall of Fame. PROFESSIONALS. | Brother 2 Brother: The Renaissance Man Expressing confidence and intelligence can often be viewed as presumptuous and arrogant. Where should the line be drawn? This panel will discuss the conundrum black renaissance men face balancing professionalism and a personal life. Black male attorneys will give insight about maintaining the qualities of a gentleman in and out of the courtroom.
