Salary Packaging
What is salary packaging?
Salary packaging is an easy and convenient way to use some of your salary to pay for everyday expenses (such as rent, mortgage, car payments etc) before income tax is calculated, meaning you pay less tax and have more money to spend.
What can I salary package?
Some examples are listed below:
1. Novated Vehicle Lease
A novated lease allows you to purchase a new or used car and pay all of the running costs (fuel, maintenance, insurance) with your pre-tax salary. It’s a great way to drive the car you want and make your money go further.
2.
Mortgage or rent
You can salary package up to $15,900 to pay your rent/mortgage/credit card expenses etc from your pre tax salary, leaving more money left over for you.
3. Superannuation Contributions
By salary packaging additional superannuation contributions into your Super Fund you could increase the net amount going into your super fund compared to contributing from after tax dollars.
How do I start salary packaging?
