FROM THE DIRECTOR Dear Friends, The NCMA is fully animated! The Museum Park is in full bloom with active users every day. The concert series returns with headliner musicians you love to hear. And popular and unusual films always create a memorable summer evening under the stars. You Are Here: Light, Color, and Sound Experiences, one of the most popular and significant exhibitions in our Museum’s history, will excite and engage visitors through July 22. Do not miss this moving experience. Works by Janet Cardiff, Olafur Eliasson, Ragnar Kjartansson, Mickalene Thomas, James Turrell, Bill Viola, and many more of worldwide renown are joined by a major installation by art superstar Yayoi Kusama. Kusama’s LIGHT OF LIFE will remain at the Museum after the exhibition closes. This addition to the permanent collection is my final art acquisition, and one of my most important. It is one of only three in the world and the only one in the Southeast. So please join in the fun! Everything we do is planned with you in mind.
Monster Drawing Rally is back! Join the party and snag an original work of art. Details on page 7

Wednesday, August 1, 8 pm, Member tickets from $28.80 Josh Tillman’s eighth solo album, Fear Fun—the first under the name Father John Misty—marked a notable departure in his austere style of writing. Pitchfork said, “He's finally shaken that lonesome, somber tone, and these songs sound all the better for it: gregarious, engaging, even funny.” Father John Misty has two more albums: I Love You Honeybear from 2015 and last year’s Pure Comedy. Jenny Lewis is “a kind of indie goddess, a stylish performer who defies genre and salts her songs with a sly and off-kilter intelligence,” says a 2014 profile in the New York Times Magazine. The video for “Just One of the Guys” from her 2014 album The Voyager has been viewed 6 million times on YouTube. PRESENTED WITH CAT ’S CRADL E
