Founded in 1986, we are a nonprofit conservation organization who help people of all ages and backgrounds experience and enjoy the mountains, rivers, forests and human communities of the North Cascades—so all will care for and protect this special place.
Many of our programs take place at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center, a hub of discovery and adventure operated in partnership with the National Park Service and Seattle City Light. The campus is on Diablo Lake in North Cascades National Park and features modern accommodations, delicious food service, access to the lake, a library, classrooms, trails and mountain views.
We believe that shared experiences in nature strengthen community. Everyone benefits when people have equitable access to natural places and spaces for education, recreation and renewal. Will you join us on this journey?
We believe that hands-on learning about the environment begins in childhood—which is why it’s one of our priorities to serve young people. We foster equitable access to outdoor spaces with opportunities for young people to discover, reflect, learn, grow and thrive.
A 3-day, 2-night hands-on learning program serving local 5th grade students at the Environmental Learning Center with a focus on science and the natural and cultural history of the North Cascades.
