Friends of the Arcata Marsh and Redwood Region
Audubon Society are co-sponsoring a Student Bird Art Contest in conjunction with the Godwit Days Spring Migration Bird Festival. Up to $550 in prizes will be awarded to Humboldt County students from kindergarten through high school who submit a drawing of one of 40 suggested species or another bird seen locally. Complete rules and bird list at www.godwitdays. org and the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center. Submit artwork at the Interpretive Center (open Tues.-Sun., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or mail to Sue Leskiw, 155 Kara Lane, McKinleyville, CA 95519 by March 18. E-mail questions to sueleskiw1@gmail.com. Redwood Region Audubon Society is sponsoring its 17th annual student nature writing contest.
