Saturday, July 8 Improving Your Organization s Banking Relationship 10:30 a.m.-Noon Room 506 This workshop will provide participants with the necessary tools to increase organizational effectiveness and adopt secure financial management practices. Workshop facilitators will provide an overview of treasury structure and function and will introduce participants to the banking industry s best practices. Participants will also gain a better understanding of banks evaluation processes and the tips that can help improve their organizations financial condition.
Attracting and retaining qualified employees is critical to any organization s long-term success, especially in the nonprofit world. This workshop will provide information about 403(b) plans, discuss various investment opportunities, and explain how to best manage investment portfolios. Monday, July 10 (Continued) Media 101 for Community-Based Organizations 3:30-5:00 p.m. Room 502A This workshop features a diverse panel of media experts who will provide an overview of today s media landscape, discuss how to best create a news hook, outline ways in which organizations can develop relationships with the media, and describe how to best reach difficult audiences. This training is suitable for CBOs looking to use media as a way to strengthen advocacy and leverage fundraising efforts.
Tuesday, July 11 Corporate Giving: Building Successful Partnerships with Corporate America 8:30-10:00 a.m. Room 501AB When circumstances require a change in leadership, successful transition planning provides opportunities to build capacity, change strategic direction, and strengthen external stakeholder relations. This workshop will help nonprofit boards and staff examine critical factors driving executive transitions. Workshop participants will discuss and identify transition best practices which help facilitate organizational transitions.
