IhopeyoufindthisSeptemberCEOupdatefullofhappystudents, reflectingthesuccesseswehavehadacrossallthreephasesofour Trust’sschoolsandcolleges Incredibleeffortandcommitmentfrom ourveryspecialstaffhasgoneintoachievingthissummer’sresults, andI’mhopingthisspecialeditionwillgiveallstakeholdersatrue indicationofhowsuccessfulmanyofourstudentshaveactuallybeen Wehavedefinitelyseensomeoutstandingindividual,subjectand school/collegeperformanceswhichhasgiventheNCLTfamilyso muchtobeproudof.

SOCIALMOBILITYINFLUENCE

Itistestamenttothepositiverelationshipsthathavebeensuccessfully developedovertimebetweenstaffandstudentsthatthemajorityof ourstudentshavebeenabletoprogresstotheirnextdestinations Our primarychildrenhavebeentaughttheskillsandqualitiesneededtobe successfulatsecondaryschool;oursecondarystudentshave progressedtosixthform,apprenticeshipsorfurthertrainingthrough employment;andoursixthformstudentshavesuccessfullyprogressed touniversity,higherapprenticeshipsortheworldofwork,includingthe mostprestigiousuniversitiesintheUK,OxfordandCambridge

MOREA&A*GRADESATNCP THANEVERBEFORE

NewCollegePontefractstudentshaveseen anotheryearofstrongresults,enablingthe significantmajorityofstudentstoprogress totheuniversitycourse,jobor apprenticeshipoftheirchoice.

Thisyear,30%ofstudentsachievedA*-A,the highestfigurefortheverytopgradesthe collegehasachievedoutsideoftheCovid yearsand5%abovethenationalaverage.

Almosteveryqualificationwaspassed,and the996%passrateatA-levelputsthe collegeover2%abovethenationalaverage forthisstatistic.Asaresultofanothersetof strongresults,manystudentshavebeen acceptedontosomeverycompetitive courses,with12studentsgainingadmission toOxfordandCambridge Studentson AppliedGeneralcoursesalsoperformed reallywell,witha100%passrateand68% achievingadistinctionordistinction*,the highgradesavailableonthesecourses

NewCollegeDoncasterstudentshaveseen anotheryearofstrongresults,supporting progressiontogreatdestinations,and encouragingabuoyantYear12enrolmentthis September.

StudentsonAppliedGeneralcourses,suchas Level3BTECcourses,continuetodelivered exceptionalresults,witha997%passrateand 70%achievingadistinctionordistinction*,the highestgradesavailableonthesecourses Itis nosurprisethatwithanaveragegradeof distinction,studentsstudyingappliedcourses verysignificantlyoutperformedstudents nationallyandprogressedtouniversityinvery goodnumbers

STRONGEST LEVEL3BTEC PERFORMANCE ACROSSTHE TRUST

Thisyear,55%ofstudentsachievedanA*,AorBin theirALevelcourses,with79%achievingA*-Cand 99%ofstudentspassingtheirA-levelcourses With verygoodvalueadded,studentsoutperformed similarlyqualifiedstudentsnationally,andrelative tothehigh-performingsixthformcollegessector WithanaveragegradeofB-,alargeproportionof studentsprogressedtohighereducationorother level4destinations

AVERYHIGHPERCENTAGEOFSTUDENTS PROGRESSTOHIGHEREDUCATIONFOR THESECONDYEARRUNNING

NewCollegeBradfordstudentshaveseenanother yearofgoodresults,enablingmoststudentsto progresstotheuniversitycourse,jobor apprenticeshipoftheirchoice.

StudentsonAppliedGeneralcoursesinparticular performedwell,witha99.6%passrateand58% achievingadistinctionordistinction*,thehighgrades availableonthesecourses.A-levelstudentsachieved 98.7%passrate,with72%achievingA*-C.

Allofthesefiguresmayimproveslightlyasexam boardsprocessrequestsforexamreviews.

BRINSWORTHACADEMY CELEBRATESSTUDENTS’ SUCCESSES

ThereweremanysmilingstudentfacesatGCSE resultsdayatBrinsworthAcademyrecently. Studentsandstaffhadworkedhardtogaintheir gradesandensurethatstudentscouldmaketheir nextstepsatPost16.Itwasgreattoseestudents beingabletocelebratetheirhardworkand determinationwithsomefantasticindividual results.

Awiderangeofstaffcametoseestudentsreceive theirresultsandPrincipal,GregRaynor,said:“GCSE resultsdayisalwaysoneofthehighlightsofthe year,seeingsomanystudentsbeingsuccessful andmovingontothenextstepoftheireducation iswhyweallcomeintotheprofession.”

Intermsofheadlines,613%ofstudentsgaineda Grade4+inbothEnglishandMaths,whichwasup 5%onthepreviousyear At5+thiswas34%,which wasinlinewiththepreviousyear Over15students securedanaveragegradeof7+withover125 studentsaveragingaGrade4+orbetter

Witharangeofsuccessfulsubjects,Danceand Travel&Tourismsecuredstrongprogressfromthe vocationalsubjects WhilstatGCSE,German securedanothersetofstrongresultswith94%of studentssecuringaGrade4+and90%atGrade 5+andaProgressmeasureof+105

Thesepositiveindividualresultsmeantthatalmost 100studentshavealreadysigneduptojoinNew BrinsworthsixthformforSeptember,withhopefully moretofollow

Theweekearlier,BrinsworthAcademyhasalso celebratedstudentsandtheirsuccessintheirpost16qualifications Thereweresomeexceptional individualresultswith11studentssecuringaGradeA average Thismeantthatthemajorityofstudents wereabletoprogressontotheirfirstchoice universityplaceswithcoursesrangingfrom medicinetohistoryandfrommoleculargeneticsto psychology Wealsosawstudentsheadingoffto establishmentsacrossthecountryfromKing’s CollegeLondon,toWarwickUniversityandtheever popularUniversityofSheffield

Almostallstudentswereabletosecureapositive destinationforthenextstepsoftheirlivesandthey wereverythankfulforthesupportandcarethey hadreceivedfromthesixthformteam.

THEIMPROVEMENTJOURNEYHAS STARTEDATDHS

WeareincrediblyproudofallofourYr11students andthepleasingsetofresultsthattheyhave achieved.Theyhaveworkedveryhardthroughout theyearandshowedrealdedicationtotheir studies,gettingonboardwithallofthechanges andraisedexpectationswehavehadofthem, andithaspaidoff.

Weareespeciallypleasedwiththehuge improvementsinourEnglishresultsthisyear,and theteacherswhohaveworkedtirelesslytoensure thatthishappened Wehavesignificantly improvedtheoutcomesateachmeasurefrom 2023:

Thisyear’sresultsreflectourcontinueddrive forexcellencewiththeAcademyonceagain achievingapositiveprogressscoreof+0.46 (unvalidated).Asignificantproportionof studentssecureda‘goodpass’inEnglishand Maths,with67%ofstudentsachievingagrade 4oraboveinEnglishandMaths.Additionally, 51%ofstudentsachieveda‘strongpass’of grade5andaboveinEnglishandMaths.

Therewerealsosomestandoutperformances withinourvocationalsubjects,notably, PerformingArtswhichachieved+274 progressscoreandADT(Art,Design, Technology)demonstratingatleast+10for progress,withArtachieving+206 Theresults achievedprovideourstudentswithasolid foundationforfurthereducation,opening doorstoawiderangeoffutureopportunities

StaffandchildrenatAnstonGreenlandswere delightedbythisyear'sSATsresults,withthe schoolperformingsignificantlyabovenational averagesattheexpectedstandardinevery subject.Intheheadline"combined"measure (childrenwhoreachedtheexpectedstandard inmaths,readingandwriting),Greenlands achieved77%-thisrepresentsanincreaseof 10%fromlastyearandis16%abovethe nationalfigureof61%

Oneareawherethehardworkofstaffclearly paidoffwasGPS(Grammar,Punctuationand Spelling)-thissawa23%risefrom2023, reflectingthefocusthesubjecthadinthe year 'sQuIP Nextyear'sfocuswillbeinfurther raising"greaterdepth"attainmentacross individualsubjectareas

TherewasmoregoodnewsacrossotherKey PerformanceIndicators,withtheschool achievingabovethenationalaverageinthe MultiplicationTablesCheck(Yr4)andthe phonicsscreen(Yr1andYr2) Headteacher, AlexWirth,said:"Staffconsistentlyputahuge amountofworkintoraisingstandardsandit's fantastictoseethatworkpayingoff.We're reallyproudofwhatthechildrenhave achieved."

Wearereallyproudoftheeffort, determinationandprogressofalllearners acrosstheschool Significantstridesforward havebeenmadeinbothstatutorydataand internaldatawhichindicatesthatlastyear pupilsmadeacceleratedprogress

InEYFS,weachieved72%ofchildrenachieving GLDwhichisabovethenationalstandard.In Phonics,theschoolcontinuestoseerising standardsandwearepassionateabout makingsureallchildrencanreadandlove reading.Thisschoolyear,theschoolhasbeen proactiveinsecuringadditionalcoaching fromtheEnglishHub.Thishasproven invaluableandourstaffandchildrenhave workedexceptionallyhardtoachieve79% passingthephonicsscreeningtest! Importantly,thisincludesanumberofchildren onEHCplanswhohavemadesignificant progresstoachievethisgoal.

InYr4,ourMTCresultsdoubledwithchildren findingaloveoftimetables!33%ofchildren achievedfullmarkswitha71%ofchildren achievingascoreof20+ Allofthiswas withoutnarrowingthecurriculum Staffand childrenexcelledinmakingourapproach rigorousbutalsofun–anessentialwhen childrenareaged8and9andneedtobeable toansweranymultiplicationquestionwithin6 seconds!

OurSATsresultsreflectthehardworkofthe wholeteam.Itwouldbefairtosaythatthis yeargrouphadahighnumberofchallenges tofacewithnearly50%ofthecohorthaving SENDneeds.Thatsaid,allcopedadmirably andtheSATSresults(alongsidealloftheother thingstheyachievedthroughouttheirtimeat Redscope-residentials,performances,special jobs)reflecttheeffort,sheerdetermination andwilltosucceed.

OurYr4childrenshouldalsobesoproudoftheir MultiplicationTablesCheckresultswithamassive 69%scoringfull-marks(comparedtoanational averageof29%from2023) Thisisaresultofahuge amountofworkfromthesechildrenwhichwe couldn'thaveachievedwithoutthecontinued supportofourfantasticfamilies.
