Welcome to the inaugural edition of the ND Pharma & Biotech Co. Magazine, a publication which is born with the aim of taking in-depth knowledge and look to the activities of our company and the future of this exciting reality that we live daily in our effort to give excellence in professionalism and service to our customers. From the very beginning we want to express our gratitude for all those people and clients that every day are letting us to reach more and more higher goals, especially those that deposit their trust and confidence in our work, dedication and interest. Each day here is a challenge to become more efficient, sustainable, competitive and dedicated. Each day is a challenge into the race of being adaptable to the opportunities presented by rapid developments in science and technology as the industry is undergoing some of the most dramatic changes seen in history. This edition and issue is the first we print it out, so a brief explanation of who we are and what the company is appeared as a necessity. So the brief presentation of our services, development capacities, research and innovation effort, investment policies and the unavoidable references to our history, were taken as an obligation by all the editorial board that I preside. We are a biopharmaceutical and biotechnological company, with a solid scientific medical and biochemical foundation, so our cover and number should be dedicated to the chemistry, that is at the end of the day, the substrate and the environment where all living things exist. From the furniture we use, the clothes we wear to the foods we eat or the medications we need in some periods of our lives, chemistry is all around, so we will accept that chemistry and biochemistry are forming an integral part of our lives. That science is part of our reason to exist, the foundation of every development and the light that shines after each development we made. So this publication should serve as a voice to this light in contact with our esteemed public, clients, friends, collaborators, customers and the general public. Sometimes, the labor of a company like ND Pharma & Biotech may be relegated to a second stage as we do not sell or produce (barely) finished product to the final consumer. But our importance is capital, when each person can, without knowing it effectively, are consuming our products within foods or medications they take, or benefiting from the food safety and health impact that some developments we created, are providing to them in different applications. This is the way we want to participate within the improvement of our society and well being, just making life better, or in other words, making YOUR life better. We contribute to the society thru the improvement of Pharmaceuticals, Biochemicals, API´s, intermediates, reagents, and rare chemicals, trading products, fine and non poisonous ingredients, and many more products, in order to let manufacturers and industry sectors to elaborate healthy foods, beverages, medicines, and many other products suitable for health protection and wellness promotion making it available for people everywhere, meanwhile dependence on toxic chemicals decrease, protecting life and the environment. Even in early stages of the disease, walking can be a significant issue; one study found that 28% of people reported walking disabilities within two years of MS diagnosis. In the European Union (EU), approximately 600,000 people suffer from MS, and an additional 55,000 to 75,000 people in Canada are also diagnosed with this disease. We are developing novel treatments for selected, refractory patients with epilepsy, schizophrenia and/or headache, facial pain and trigeminal neuralgia as well as others based on stable regimens of antiepileptic drugs, or AEDs, or single-dose treatment for those who require intermittent use of certain molecules to control bouts of increased activity also known as cluster or acute repetitive episodically onsets, or AREOÂ´s. We are also studying new treatment frontiers to improve a range of functional impairments, in addition to walking disability, caused by MS, as well as its potential use of other peptide and non-peptide derived molecules in other neurological conditions, including cerebral palsy and post-stroke deficits. In addition, we are developing clinical stage compounds for acute treatment of SCI, different novel approaches for treatment of heart failure, and a highly promissory compound and formula based on a specific remyelinating monoclonal antibody, for the treatment of MS.
