BACKGROUND In 1992 Archbishop Adam Maida, at the request of the Pontiac Area Vicariate pastors, asked the Marist Fathers and Brothers to sponsor a new school in Oakland County. The lower (grades JK-5), middle (grades 6-8) and upper (grades 9-12) divisions of the school are located on a campus of nearly 100 acres of wooded land in the northeast corner of Pontiac, Michigan. Notre Dame accepts students of proven ability, from any race or ethnic origin. Although the school serves a predominantly Roman Catholic population, students from other denominations or religious traditions are welcome.

MISSION Notre Dame provides its diverse student body a Catholic and internationally recognized college-preparatory experience of lasting value. We affirm our Marist mission to: Work with God to form Christian people, upright citizens and academic scholars.

IB WORLD SCHOOL Notre Dame is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Students in grades JK-5 are part of the IB Primary Years Programme. Students in grades 6-10 are part of the IB Middle Years Programme. The IB culminates in the two-year Diploma Programme. Students at Notre Dame may choose to pursue the IB Diploma or continue in a more traditional college preparatory course of study. In addition, DP students complete a yearlong college-level research study (the Extended Essay), commit to a cross-curricular course titled “Theory of Knowledge,” and participate in local community service, school sports teams, and performing arts programs as part of their Creativity-Action-Service requirement (CAS).
