Select one of the types of motion with material for the panel and the characteristics of the panel you wish to explore and attempt all the parts of the task given below.

Design the climate control devices. Considering the dimension of frame to be 460 x 460mm.

Part A: To design a mechanism for the climate control device in a way that it can be operated through a mechanical input. Input force cannot directly be applied to the panel.

Part B: To design and make the panel for your climate control device. Preferably use more than one panel.

Part C: Do a market survey of hardware and fasteners that you would require in order to work out parts A, B and D. Make a matrix of those parts including detailed specifications and costs. Part D: Design a locking system and a handle for the panel.

Learning outcome:

1. To detail out elements in two materials for a specific given function. 2. To identify and appropriately apply materials for a given task. 3. To design a mechanism to induce a type of selected motion in an opening. Create an assembly document for individual student’s fenestration in the sequence described:

1. A brief note of around 300 words describing each student’s object, its motion, materials, key highlights, and spaces where it can be used.

2. List of tools needed for assembly and finishing-touch-ups. 3. List of parts the student provided to the assembling person with dimensions and specifications. 4. A step-by-step assembly, with mention of alignment and construction references, wherever needed. Locking and unlocking of the motion. Object in the furthest open and closed position.

Learning Outcome:

1. To document the model based on its assembly instructions. 2. To identify tools, construction references, and sequence suitable for assembly. 3. To be able to represent and communicate through drawing.
