Organic result vs snack pack Firstly I will clear about snack pack. The snack pack is a boxed area which appears on a search engine result page when someone searches a local business through a google search engine. The snack pack display at least top 3 local business listing through most relevant search inquiry.

In the above picture there are 2 types of results: Snack pack result • Organic result According to one study, 33% of clicks go to the local “snack pack” results, with 40% going to the regular organic results. •

1. Google my business, bing places Local SEO starts with claiming online profile on local listing sites. make sure that your business profile is listed on google. I show you how you can easily listed on google places. Google my business Go to google my business Step 1. Enter your business name First, you give your Business name You have two choices: 1. Create a new business 2. Claim an existing business After entering your business name Google will search your business in their system

After entering your business name click on next. Step 2. Enter your address Enter your Business address but remember do not enter a wrong address if you do google do not verify your business listing.

Here is my advice for entering the address If you have a corporate office, enter the address If you work from home then list the home address. I personally suggest you to that first note down all your business information in a spreadsheet so during filling your information there is no problem occur.

After filling your necessary business information you will see checkbox which shows “I deliver goods and services to my customers.”

It means you deliver goods and service, for example, you run a restaurant or stationery After you click on checkbox.you’ll see another checkbox which shows “Hide my address”

If you run business for a corporate or physical location then leave it. if you run work from home then click on a checkbox. After click o checkbox google won’t show your address to the visitors. Step 3. Pin your exact location After filling your provided information you’ll be able to drag location pin to pinpoint your business location.

Generally, you can trust on Google. But if it looks like that pin is set inaccurately you can drag location pin to set exact business location. Step 4. Choose a category

Choose your business category for example if you have a coffee shop then type coffee shop Step 5. Enter your phone number and website It is an optional feature. if you don’t have a website then enter your phone number. Entering phone number is a good option because someone sees your listing they can directly contact you to ask about your product and services. Step 6. Verify your listing After passing this all above steps you need to verify your listing. Google will send a postcard in your provided address. This steps usually takes around 12 days. Step 7. Filling your additional information After you get verified you can fill additional information to attract more visitors in your listing. Uploading some photos( upload your office photos inside and outside) Adding opening and closing hours etc.

2. Local Citation (NAP)

A local citation is online knowledge of your business, which generally displays your business name, address and phone number it is known as NAP (Name, Address, Phone). Why are NAP Citations Important? According to the MOZ, Citation is one of the best ranking techniques on Google and this is so because consistent NAP information across the web double verifies the data of different businesses on Google. On the other side, Inconsistent NAP information is not at all an ideal situation you would want to be in, as Inconsistent NAP information only misleads, distracts and misguides the users and Google and nothing else.

Conduct a citation audit To audit, the citations is a very necessary step as it helps you to detect all the inconsistent NAP information. In most of the cases, the information is either misrepresented or insufficient. The most suitable way to conduct citation audit is to do it physically/manually, but you can also use MOZ LOCAL. Following are the steps to detect inconsistent NAP information: Enter your business name in the left bar and your zip code in the left bar. Click the bar stating “check my business listing.

MOZ runs through all the data related to your website from the main data suppliers and discloses inconsistencies, if any. After you go through all the inconsistencies, make notes and connect to your website owners to rectify the inconsistent NAP information. Conducting a citation audit manually: MOZ shows the data from main data suppliers so there is a chance that you still have inconsistent NAP information. In order to correct every minor inconsistency, you must conduct a citation audit manually.

To perform a citation audit manually, search on Google for citations with advanced search operators. Following are some ways you can use to find incomplete NAP information: • • •

“Business name” + “partial address” -” correct phone number” “Business name” + “correct phone number” -” partial address” “Correct phone number” + “partial address” -” business name”

Following are some ways to find incorrect NAP information: •

“Business name” + “partial address” +”old/incorrect phone number” “Business name” + “correct phone number” + ”old/incorrect partial address” “Correct phone number” + ”correct partial address” + “old business name”
